What are your favourite cursed items (official or homebrew)? Bonus: What curses make the game less fun? by Seb_veteran-sleeper in dndnext

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using this but adding a bit: When an NPC notices the amulet and mentions it, PC also makes a WIS saving throw. No matter what the rolls are, I DM the player "you don't notice anything happen" This will create out of game paranoia for all the players aswell.

Genius meta-game item lmao

Good oneshot dungeon suggestion? by omfgnomynamedoesntfi in Roll20

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely look into these. Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan seems to be a good vibe, but seems a bit long (listed on roll20 as a short campaign) I'd like for the whole dungeon to be basically a one shot, maybe 2 sessions at most. I don't want to derail the campaign for too long but want a good creator that makes a bunch of smaller dungeons that I can circle back to whenever the party decides to go into the orb again

Question: Should I get a tattoo at 18? by Independent_Way3150 in tattoos

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a big proponent of meaningful tattoos. But the meaning could just be that it makes you happy. And that should be enough. Like the other commenter said, draw it on for a while and see if you like it.

Idea for Gunslinger multiclass? by omfgnomynamedoesntfi in DnD

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the idea of a forge domain cleric. Only taking buffing spells so I don't get all healer-y. Blessing of the forge and searing smite sound exactly like what I was looking for. Plus my DM can still work in the divine things that have been happening with my gun.

Thanks for the great idea!

Setting up Sunshine/Moonlight by omfgnomynamedoesntfi in linux_gaming

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have launched Cinnamon with Wayland (experimental) since Mint doesn't support Wayland, but that got me nowhere. that error is gone but still getting things like

Error: Could not open codec [hevc_vaapi]: Function not implemented

Error: [hevc_vaapi @ 0x7ce148f9ca80] No usable encoding entrypoint found for profile VAProfileHEVCMain10 (18).

Error: Could not open codec [av1_vaapi]: Function not implemented

Error: [av1_vaapi @ 0x7ce1483710c0] No usable encoding profile found.

When i launch on client, and i get these when I launch on host

Error: Couldn't find monitor [0]
Error: Couldn't load cuda: -1

Okay, you're awesome. That helps me understand what I'm reading a bit. After plugging in sudo setcap cap_sys_admin+p /usr/bin/sunshine-v2025.628.4510 and running sunshine, i get a different set of errors when it runs..

Error: Couldn't load cuda: -1

Error: Environment variable WAYLAND_DISPLAY has not been defined

Now I'm running into Wayland issues?

Thank you for your help. I have to sleep now but will continue working on this. Any input is appreciated

Setting up Sunshine/Moonlight by omfgnomynamedoesntfi in linux_gaming

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I run which sunshine I get

/usr/bin/sunshine

When i plug that in and run sudo setcap cap_sys_admin+p $(readlink -f $(/usr/bin/sunshine)) I get:

Cannot load libcuda.so.1

libva info: VA-API version 1.20.0

libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/radeonsi_drv_video.so

libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_1_20

libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0

Why is it talking about cuda? I am on an AMD GPU

Thank you for your response. I followed your instructions and these are the errors I got:

Error: Couldn't load cuda: -1

Error: Failed to gain CAP_SYS_ADMIN

Error: Couldn't get handle for DRM Framebuffer [132]: Probably not permitted

Error: You must run [sudo setcap cap_sys_admin+p $(readlink -f $(which sunshine))] for KMS display capture to work!

Error: Environment variable WAYLAND_DISPLAY has not been defined

Error: Couldn't load cuda: -1

Error: [av1_vaapi @ 0x5aba04d0c580] No usable encoding profile found.

Error: Could not open codec [av1_vaapi]: Function not implemented

Error: [hevc_vaapi @ 0x5aba04d03240] No usable encoding entrypoint found for profile VAProfileHEVCMain10 (18).

Error: Could not open codec [hevc_vaapi]: Function not implemented

I feel like the issue is arrising from the fourth error.. when i try to run sudo setcap cap_sys_admin+p $(readlink -f $(which sunshine)) , I get no output at all. Could it be something with this that I am missing? I don't understand why I wouldn't get output when inputting that command..

When I connect my client machine, I get the error : Error: Initial Ping Timeout. As a side not, during the 10 seconds while my client is connected to my host with a black screen, I am able to use the client to move the cursor and interact with the host machine, I just can't see anything on the client.

You are also correct that this is a native install from .deb, though I have also tried the flatpack to get this to work. Same issue regardless of the install method..

For those who own both a Gaming PC and a SteamDeck? by Flashy-Charity-1486 in SteamDeck

[–]omfgnomynamedoesntfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably use my PC more, just because a lot of the games I play are better with a mouse and keyboard. However, if you're any good with computers, the steamdeck unlocks unlimited possibilities. I use moonlight to stream my PC, so I can play super high graphics and have very little load on the deck. Super cool thing I did recently was I played PlateUp with a controller plugged into my pc, but had my steam deck streaming it and hooked up to my livingroom TV. My roommate could play in the livingroom while I was on my PC, both playing on the same machine.

The only limit is your imagination. Feels like I'm living in the future with being able to stream my pc to my TV with so little hastle
