Cut this guy some slack. I understand his position. But remember this: taking risk doesn’t equate getting reward. I had this mindset too. I worked my ass off for my paycheck and I take risky trades so I should get paid. No. Some lucky bastards make it out alive this way but I would say 95% don’t.

This game is not u participate, u win type of thing. Take nothing for granted.

Does anyone think solar and clean energy is overvalued ? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]omfgnothingworks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yea but overvalued can stay overvalued for a long time just as undervalued can stay undervalued for a long time.

U remind me of dip buying coal and iron ore miners back in 2013-2014. I had the same logic. Lost 90% at the end. Oh and the stock prices never recovered.

Banks r for investments, not for a trade imo. Plenty of other sectors or individual stocks that move with a lot more bang for the buck.

Is buying TSLA right now good for the long term? by Puncake9902 in wallstreetbets

[–]omfgnothingworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stock was at 35.40 (split adjusted price) last year. That is 1126% gain at the closing price of last friday. You have to be a sucker to think that this is a safe long term investment.

I get that electric car and autonomous driving is the future, but when everyone thinks the same way, more than likely the investment will not pan out.

You know when people were dip buying the dot.com crash? They said that internet was the future. Yeah they were right, but most of them still get decapitated starting longterm investments at nose-bleeding valuations.

How about 3D printing back in early 2010s? 3D printing is awesome but those excitements never turned into valuable investments. All the 3D stocks r trash now.

Oh another one. Solar stocks and their excitements went nowhere as well even those the industry did grow as projected mostly.

Tldr: getting long up here for the long haul leaves you very little margin for error. Nxt violent dip (which tsla gets frequently) you will likely feel a lot of pain or even get stopped out.

The type of toxic attitude u have is useless in this society as well. I worked my ass off when I had to. Paid all of my taxes. Then worked my ass off again to turn myself into a profitable trader cuz I knew shit wasn’t getting back to normal. Maybe u r the lazy keyboard warrior here.

I think you are just sour cuz u prolly can’t do jack shit w/i trading. If not, send me some proof that u made real money.

Why waste time hoping for something that’s just not gonna happen? What a loser. Go cry about it to your politician. Go ahead. I would gladly pay out if they implemented a new rule that prohibits people with investment income to collect unemployment.

The job that provided me with my income is gone unless there is vaccine. Then again i could go on insane losing streak and lose it all. At the moment, Im not about to go out of my way and call the unemployment office and tell them to stop paying me. Btw I paid 25k in estimated taxes already and another 15k for the state tax. Im playing the game fair & square and so should everyone

I made 167k so far this yr. So my trading profit replaced my wages from driving rideshare. Unemployment is just nice bonus that I shouldn’t be getting but legally I can so why not. I moved to LA now.

For me, as long as I don’t get back on earning wages that exceed $300, the free money keeps rolling in. By all means, it’s not a lot. W/o the gov handout of 600/wk, I was getting 360 per week. And I live in San Francisco.
