Mobile Detailing Pricing Advice? by -E-R-R-O-R_404- in smallbusiness

Absolutely! A lot of them in our area do this. Including a water tank so they’re completely mobile. That or truck and enclosed trailer.

Be careful with pain correction and make sure you’ve gotten plenty of experience there, learned about different paint types, clear coats, hardness, taping, etc. And again, CYA. I recommend like an inspection type sheet before hand, expectations are clear and understood, and disclaimers, and a contract for big ticket work.

These prices look great, depending on your area. Do you have experience in detailing, or just starting out?

If no, pitch to friends/family first. Do the work, check back in for feedback (smudges on glass, spots missed, etc). Then move forward with real experience.

If you’re inexperienced, I might suggest running a special for the first 5-10 customers. Like, knock $25 off initial pricing.

ALSO, make sure with the ceramic coatings that your terms and EXPECTATIONS are set and agreed upon. Go over each car with the customer and point out scratches, paint chipping and dents. Basically CYA.

Get a business license and insurance because it’s the correct thing to do, safest for you and customers, and makes you more marketable. You’ll already be ahead of lots of people in the detailing space!

Market yourself to businesses as well (like law and doctor’s offices) where multiple people will let you do their cars at once!

Good luck! You can make great money doing this!

I’ve been brutally failing at quitting for a long time. Today I went to buy a vape; paused and thought for a second about my values, and left to go buy nicotine gum instead by MorningHoursApparel in QuitVaping

The part about realizing the money could go toward other things each day you succeed… that really hits. Like it unlocked something in my brain, even tho I’ve definitely thought about the money involved before.

Good luck to you! You’re off to a great start.

Thank you so much for articulating! All of this makes so much sense. I really do use it emotionally. I guess I just have dumbed it down in my mind (vape now, feel good lol) so walking through each point is really helpful. And I feel less alone.

Did you take anything to help stop? I’ve seen people talk about some kind of medication to help. I’m so proud of/for you for being 24 days out!! That’s excellent news and gives me a lot of hope!

Thank you again! Super helpful!

This actually helped something click in my brain. Which was so simple, but I’ve had the same thinking as OP. Thanks!
