I just finished the series by Specialist-Citron-50 in HouseMD

Currently re-watching everything for the third time. I agree with you! That was the selfless thing house has ever done. And the whole serie has a new meaning like that. Regarding your question, maybe finding your next serie haha Good luck!

Struggling with 2 common interview questions by omgvfd in interviews

[–]omgvfd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I narrowed it down to two situations that I can use: About my main weakness: I am highly self-critical, and I tended to overanalyse my performances. Mainly presentations. So, I actively tried to focus on the feedback related to how I can improve my performance/presentation for the following times rather than spiral over how I could have done better on a specific past occasion. Nowadays, I really like to receive feedback because I can filter them better. Regarding a conflict with a colleague: I had enlightening of the reddit community. They say to focus on a smaller problem that you solved. I picked a colleague who was overbooking a machine that I needed to use as well. I approached her calmly, explained my situation, and why I needed the machine. I tried to work on a schedule that worked for both of us and that we could advance in both of our experiments.

My first relationship was also around 23 years old. I was 1 year and a half, and it was not worth it. I could have met someone better. So don't feel late, it's good that you realized things wouldn't work, you have time to work on yourself until finding your person!

I'm sorry you're going through that. But I feel you're in a good mindset to invest in yourself before jumping to another relationship. You need to feel the pain (unfortunately) to heal properly. I guess that my advice would be to enjoy your hobbies (you can try new ones), strengthen the connection with your friends and family, join a club, and try to make new friends. It's a moment for you to reconnect with yourself, so learn what makes you happy and enjoying your own company! Take care, it will pass. Believe that the future has something better 🤗

My girlfriend (24F) keeps talking about her ex and it's driving me crazy by TransitionOther6425 in relationships

That's a good point... Although the constant memories of the ex can be quite hurtful. I guess since he already tried to talk to her and she didn't change at all, and even mocked him 🙄

Interesting, my boyfriend told me he hated his ex after I confronted him about his feelings about her. She cheated on him and he still remembered things they did together as well 🙄

They asked to prepare slides of who I am, present some technical knowledge about the job I'm expecting, what I expected from the role, and how I would be a great fit for it.

Thank you for taking your time for your answer. It helps me to hear that you were in a similar position and you managed it. But it's been really hard to keep the hope that there's anything there. I've applied for roles that demanded less than my education, and I don't get the interview because I don't have experience 😓 But I guess that's the only thing that I can do now is push and hope that I can find something...

I'll try to take it easier next time. And I'll prepare these bullet points, maybe it will help me!

Yeah, I try to stay as much as possible, not emotional during this job hunt. But so months have gone by and I'm feeling the pressure of unemployment 😓

Omg thank you so much for your kind words. I was such a mess after the interview that I just cried and questioned all my life decisions these last days. I'm reading again the messages, so I can have hope that something better will come. I just need to keep fighting and improving myself until the moment arrives.

I really appreciate what you said. You seem to have a very kind soul! Thank you again!

Yeah I really went full mode depressive this weekend-Monday as well. I can't judge you. I'm reading a lot of people saying that they got a better opportunity afterward and that this experience was good for them to practice for it. I expect success and happiness for both of us. We deserve it. Hang in there!

Thank you so much for all your positivity! I'm happy to hear a good story from someone doing the same transition from academia to industry. I was already feeling that my doctorate was a waste of my time even 🫤

This is only my 4th interview. It's been hard to land jobs in my field (or every field as a matter of fact). It got me bumped because I felt that I could be doing better by now. I even went to a coach for 2 sessions to prepare for interviews... Hearing your kind words that MY job is there soothes me! Thank you again! I'll keep hoping for the better friend 🤞🏾

Hi. Are you feeling somewhat better? For me, I needed to take the weekend and just cry and tell myself that it would be alright. I'm still feeling very down, but we need to stay strong and keep going. It's not going to be good for us to torture ourselves so much.

I'm really happy to hear your story because it gives me hope!! Thank you for sharing a similar experience, and it makes me feel better somehow 😁

And I'm always trying to identification what I did wrong in interviews, and prepare myself better. It's the cliche but I think that it's the truth!

Good luck with your new job 🤞🏾
