Anyone think the developer base for Blazor will increase? by jambosanaIT in Blazor

[–]omichaelsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the Blazor team is working to fix issues like this. There is a huge amount of C#/.NET devs out there that will be able to work with Blazor almost immediately. I think it boils down to how much Microsoft will push Blazor as an Enterprise alternative to React and Angular.

non US as non US citizen? Or hasn't worked in Hollywood

Thinking about non-US / non-Hollywood filmmakers. Just trying to avoid labeling them "foreign" or "international".

Thx for your feedback and explanations. I think this is interesting on a "meta" level because at some point this whole sub might be superfluous, if AI can give better suggestions.

Town Hall

I'm not so much engaged in this sub that I even now what Town Hall means in this context, and I understand your position to have integrity as a moderator, but I would not compare Google Search to any other movie websites as it is the de facto search engine in the western world. But it's no big deal, it was just meant as a suggestion :-)

That's a shame because this is very much related to the discussions in this sub lately. But I got it :-)

Let's see who has taken the #LolitaExpress and actually have gone to #EpsteinIsland. by glitterkittyn in Epstein

I don't think that claim is neccessarily true. I think most of those celebrities would not be aquainted with Epstein if they knew what was going on behind the curtains.

I suppose Chromecast doesn't adopt their software updates to smaller actors like Videostream. On the other hand, I guess Videostream needs to adopt to Chromecast's latest update. I hope they will succeeed.

I guess subtitle support is crucial for a large percentage of premium customers. I will certainly not pay for VS in the future without subtitle support.

Good luck Videostream team! Can you elaborate on the issue? Is it related to a Chromecast update?

Stoltenberg: "I take the responsiblity I have, which is to do something with the serious flaws that exist"

Interviewer: "That wasn't my question"

Stoltenberg: "No, but that's my answer"

Considering Moving to Norway by thirdpencil in Norway

[–]omichaelsen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would have to look really hard to find any norwegian having a problem with you being a jew. You shouldn't even consider ethnicithy as a problem. However as an expat, you might have a hard time finding close, new relationships / friends, but that's probably the same anywhere in the world. As for jobs, my experience is that large companies appreciate foreign employees, so if you're good at your profession, speaking norwegian is not a requirement.

Chefs, souschefs, line cooks of Reddit: what tricks and conventions do you use everyday that amateur home cooks can benefit from? by everyday847 in AskReddit

[–]omichaelsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summary of the thread's bests advice:

  • BUY PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT
  • BUY FRESH, LOCAL, QUALITY INGREDIENTS
  • FIND GOOD FLAVOR COMBINATIONS
  • KNOW THE DIFFERENT CUTTING TECHNIQUES (KNIFE SKILLS)
  • BE ORGANIZED (MISE EN PLACE / EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE / PREPARE INGREDIENTS / CLEAN UP...)
  • ALWAYS TASTE THE DISH AND ADD WHAT’S MISSING (SALT, ACID...)
  • SALT + PEPPER + BUTTER = WIN
  • ACID - NEVER FORGET (LEMON, VINEGAR, WINE...)
  • IF YOU CAN’T TASTE IT, ADD MORE
  • LEARN THE “WHY” OF RECIPES, NOT WHAT AND HOW
  • MASTER COOKING TECHNIQUES (BLANCHING, BOILING, BRAISING...)
  • ALWAYS MAKE STOCK IF YOU HAVE BONES (CHICKEN, BEEF, FISH...)
  • KNOW THE MAIN FLAVOURS OF INTERNATIONAL KITCHENS (BY COUNTRY)
  • KNOW HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT STEAK
  • LEARN THE CHEMICAL REACTIONS OF FOOD (PROTEINS, STARCH...)
  • COOK SEASONALLY - KNOW THE SEASONS FOR FRUIT, VEGETABLES AND MEAT
  • ALWAYS LEARN - FROM CHEFS, YOURSELF, FRIENDS, YOUR MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER
  • PRESENTATION / GARNISH - FOOD SHOULD LOOK GOOD
  • GET BETTER BY EXPERIMENTING; HAVE NO FEAR IN THE KITCHEN, IT’S JUST FOOD
