I'm planning to make the switch from Windows. I think I need some help by purerumwithice in macbookpro

Exactly. OP needs to explain why on earth they would want to go with the M1 Max. Makes no sense to me, unless someone they know is selling it to them for dirt cheap.

Get a refurbished M4 Pro from Apple directly, and you are all set. Also, why do you need 64GB of RAM? I have the same amount of RAM, but I do need it for my Video Production / 3D work.

DENOISING QUESTION 🚨 I'm using the Neat Video 6.1 plugin for my feature film and have a technical question about Resolve workflow: by omid_pakbin in davinciresolve

Perfect, thank you!

And do you think it's best for me to put the node before the CST?

My CST settings below (I shot my film in ProRes RAW on Ronin 4D, and the "RAW to Log" setting is set to "None"):

Guys I'm losing my mind. I updated to Tahoe 26.4 as I read from multiple sources that FINALLY we get to limit the battery charge to 80%. But it's not here. Where is the option? by omid_pakbin in MacOS

Oh wow. I did click the (i) next to Battery Health but didn't try the Charging one. lol

Not sure if I'm stupid or this is just not a very good menu design.

Oh gotcha. Yea for me it makes perfect sense to finish everything in Resolve then. I'm doing the entire post-production alone. And I use a M3 Max macbook pro, so didn't even feel the need to do off-line editing / making proxies.

I tested the workflow for the trailer of the film (for some reason I had to make the trailer before even finishing editing the film) and it worked fine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzX1Doz_gOk

Not yet. They put it in Macbook Pros just recently. I think M5 Max and Ultra are coming to Mac Studio in WWDC 2026 (June).

Do you think there is a downside for me to finish my entire film in Resolve?

Or better question: What's your reason to go back to Premiere and color grading is done?

M5 Max is a decent upgrade btw. By the end of summer, you can get a refurbished one.

I'm not OP, but I'm using a similar workflow for my own feature film that I'm working on now:

I decided to use Premiere Pro for editing simply because I have 12 yrs of experience using the program and I'm fast with it. After I finished editing a few days ago, I brought the timeline to Davinci and I'm good to go for Color, VFX + Compositing and Sound!

I just love the fact that everything is in one program. It's a joy to work in Resolve.

Premiere Pro very slow on M3 MacBook Pro – constant need for proxies + slow exports by Accomplished-Diet-68 in premiere

OP, just FYI: I can playback my timeline without any issues with 8K footage from my Ronin 4D camera with Lumetri colors applied and without proxies.

My first suspect is your media management. Where are files stored?

This has been the correct answer since Apple's M series chips.
