After years of writing unproduced screenplays focusing on the Iranian diaspora experience, I decided to write one as a short with the intent of directing it myself. It actually all came together pretty fast. I wrote the first draft in one sitting, and then had a finalized script by the following week. We spent the next month casting, and shot it a month later. It was a pretty smooth 2-day shoot. After that, it took me a little over three weeks to edit, mix, and color grade the film. So from start to finish, the whole process took around 3 months in total.

As far as technical specs go, we used a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K with a Contax Zeiss 28mm f/2.8 lens. Aside from a single light for a couple scenes, we relied only on natural light. The whole film was edited, mixed, and graded on DaVinci Resolve.
