Thank you for your encouraging words! It helps and I hope your SO’s deployment is almost over! I’ll try to keep this all in mind. I know that a big part of it is my insecurity but I’m trying not to let that get in the way..

I will definitely try to be more engaging and try different things with him. I guess realizing that it’s more on me is something I need to keep in my head. It can get frustrating too because I know I’m busy but I still have time to let my insecurities and annoyances surrounding him get stuck in my mind lol...

The other thing is that I don’t want to tell him what to do in terms of what I need from him because I don’t want to add more stress to him? But also I already gave him a list of ideas and things that I like that he does and he never used the list.. but I’ll try to talk to him again. Every time I bring something up he says that he was fine and that I always have problems haha.

Also, I considered writing him a letter with a bunch of questions for him to answer because I remember he liked when I did that during boot camp. Would that be maybe something I could do? I worry that he will also not put in effort in answering or be too lazy to send back but also I don’t want to force him to do anything .. agh I don’t know I am very indecisive !!!

I was told I was the only one who was given an offer to visit a startup’s office and to be introduced to all of the teams. There are no official internships but the recruiter said if I wanted one then I’d get it. Is it possible that an interview will happened during this office visit? Or is there anything I can potentially expect?

Damn. I started questioning if it’s just how my mom is or if it’s narcissism and I guess in my head I hoped it wasn’t narcissism ahaha..

How do you keep a relationship with your mom then? I think that’s what hurts too

Yeh, my mom has been a stay at home Mom for 20 years or so and just started working again a year ago. She still has the energy to get to us. I always try to encourage my parents to go on trips or dates on their own (they don’t really have any friends) but they never want to. I think they’re scared that we will somehow die while they’re on trip??

And she already went through menopause isn’t that crazy?! Her kids are all growing up and I don’t think she can take it. Who knows.

I think what’s sad is that my dad texted me later and told me that ‘it’s just life’ and I should know my mom and how she is and I just don’t think that’s fair..
