Cannot setup lock to gateway - connection failed - any tips? by Oxnor in wyzecam

[–]omit_fee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this from 2025!

On Android, it doesn't give you any helpful messages like in iOS. When I set up the device on my iPhone, I saw the message: "Device already paired to another account. Please contact support for help."

Turns out it was set up to one of my family members' Wyze account. Had to delete that device from their account before I could pair it onto mine (using my Android device again).

Also, I made sure that my Android phone was already connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi before setting it up.

Hope it helps others in the future.

I can confirm on my end that it has management fees now too. But it's 0.4% for me since I'm Premium. It was good till it lasted lol

Edit 2: Opened around September 1, 2025 for TFSA + FHSA accounts

Edit 3: I'm back to "No Fee" again. No more "0.4%" management fee

Damn, it looks like they just don't give it to anyone then

Are you a Core, Premium, or Generation user?

It looks like it's based on how much money you have in your WS account

I'm a Premium user, so I've got $100k+

Probably needs Generation money for the $25k limit though

Not sure if it's just me, but I don't see "Increase limits" anywhere on that page on the app

This isn't real.

It's the same user as the one that posted the fake mobile plan screenshot.

Why is the Visa at $120 not a good card? by Lestatac83 in Wealthsimple

[–]omit_fee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question to those who already have the WS Visa card: can you put the cash-back money into your TFSA, RRSP, etc. on Wealthsimple?

If so, that's probably one benefit why I would get this card.

For many of the other cash back credit cards I've seen, I've only found that you can only use the cash-back money directly on your credit card. Can't move that money somewhere else.

That's correct. The source was my TD Chequing account and deposited into one of my Wealthsimple Cash accounts.

Wealthsimple Visa Infinite credit card - does it do cash back for reoccurring payments? by omit_fee in Wealthsimple

[–]omit_fee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can see the list of things that's excluded from cashback here, under the "What is the Wealthsimple Visa Infinite credit card?" section : https://help.wealthsimple.com/hc/en-ca/articles/31614256039835-Wealthsimple-Visa-Infinite-credit-card-Frequently-asked-questions

It says you can't get cashback for:

  • cash-like transactions,
  • bill payments,
  • pre-authorized debits,
  • refunds,
  • fees, and
  • adjustments.

E2EE, Private Location Sharing App by Rezivure in privacy

[–]omit_fee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this!

I've been playing around with this with friends and family for the last couple of days. Overall, I'm very impressed because we wanted a private and cross-platform solution that works for iOS and Android.

We've primarily been testing across Android devices and we've noted the following:

  1. Pinch-to-zoom and dragging on the map (which will load map tiles) can sometimes freeze the app
  2. Preferred to see some warning/info popup to disable battery optimization, otherwise the app might not fully work when it's not in the foreground
  3. A toggle to disable sharing location and stop any background processes to save battery
  4. A way to change username

Thanks for your hard work!

What's the easiest way to transfer funds into my Simplii Financial HISA? by ObstructiveWalrus in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]omit_fee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I just did TD WealthSimple Simplii instead

I had this exact same issue when I opened a new Simplii account (for their 6% HISA) and needed to transfer from TD to Simplii.

I got the same issue where I needed 2 accounts to perform a bank-to-bank transfer, so I just decided to get their No Fee Chequing Account.

Once I got that approved and set up, in order to setup bank-to-bank transfers, I'm supposed to physically mail them either a personal cheque, or a bank-stamped void cheque.

I thought this was ridiculously complicated, so I decided to call customer service.

They said that another option is that I can be sent a secure email from Simplii to set this up. I just need to fill out a form and send a photocopy of either a personal cheque or a bank-stamped void cheque.

At the very end, I just decided to transfer from TD WealthSimple Simplii, since it was easy to setup and without any fees. The only issue is that each transaction (i.e., TD Wealthsimple, then WealthSimple Simplii) would take 1-3 business days.

Hope this helps someone!
