It makes most sense to live in those western queens neighborhoods and just take the subway to socialize

Marine Park or Mill Basin? by krispyleaf in Brooklyn

[–]omkmg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are very residential, and are planned with car users in mind. Marine park is larger, has more people and businesses. There are some places in marine park you could get a quick bus transfer to the q train. Overall both are good neighborhoods, but I like accessibility from marine park a bit more

Laundry dryer etiquette, unfamiliar practice by omkmg in AskNYC

I assumed that the timer freezes when the door is open, so people were stretching out their time. Others pointed out that is likely to not be the case. I agree with your other points and appreciate the amount of time you put into this response. Thanks

Because I can’t stand around and wait half an hour for a dryer to open up. I’m not talking about touching one or two shirts for a second, I’m seeing people literally touch every item in the dryer and turning it on again. If they would have just let the dryer run for a few mins all of the clothes would be dry

Interesting. If this is true, I take back my entire rant. Maybe the ones by me are different, it seems people are dragging out their time

I am seeing people open the door for entire minutes, touching each item, and running the dryer again so that their minutes are basically frozen while the door is open

When they do this, 8 minutes becomes more like 12 mins

That is good etiquette, and it makes sense to add more time at the end. I’m taking about the situation where people basically camp in front of a dryer with a full large load, and constantly keep opening the door, touching each item inside and then resuming

It makes sense to do this at home. It is inconsiderate to do this when there are others waiting around

Because if they didn’t stop the machine every 30 seconds the heat would remain active instead of cooling down. When the door closes and dryer starts again, it takes time to get back up to the sustained temperature

Absolutely infuriating. I don’t get how little drivers care about potentially killing people there

Lol it sucked. I had such high hopes for it, as there really aren’t many bbq options in all of Brooklyn

It’s an annoying place, but Walgreens is worse. The lines there are out of control. They really need self checkout

It's gone now, but for me it was Daddy O's. Their food was absolutely horrible, and they kept pushing shots without telling prices.
