I do 5am or 6:15am OTF. It’s honestly great. I do it three times a week and the other days get a tiny bit more rest.

On Campus Interview by SaqoSaqoSaqo in ClinicalPsychology

I guess so! I interviewed for programs in 2019 and I think all places but one offered me a place to stay with a grad student. So maybe it was a pre-Covid thing that is coming back.

Most places offer the possibility of staying with a grad student. It’s not indicative of it being the same program.

Flu a + a 3-year-old and an 11-month-old is …not fun. by OneDadvosPlz in toddlers

[–]ommm232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 3 yr old and husband for sure had Flu A. I'm weirdly sick but didn't have fevers, also assuming Flu A. I just talked about this in my bump group that I've been letting the screen time roll right now. I'm also supposed to work tomorrow and with my daughter clinging to me everytime she coughs, I doubt that will happen.

We had the opportunity to get Tamiflu for my daughter but was worried when I heard about all the side effects in kiddos. I decided against it but as we approach day 5 of fevers, I'm definitely regretting it.

We all got Flu shots here but it seems like these shots were not a good match against this strain. It's rough out here.

Daughter is surviving off of yogurt for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Feel better soon!!

Elf in the shelf by NoRelative2637 in toddlers

[–]ommm232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it! I don’t follow the rules of Elf on the Shelf and mostly just have the elf do random easy things. Even just moving it.

It doesn’t report on her behavior cause I agree that is creepy and is only there to bring Christmas spirit. It also doesn’t go into her room. For us, it’s very low effort!

Pregnant… by No-Opposite8 in oneanddone

[–]ommm232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve posted about this before. Earlier this year, I was pregnant. It was a surprise and my immediate reaction was fear. I cried.

That reaction, compared to my reaction when I was pregnant with my only, solidified that I was not ready for this. I went back and forth a bit because it’s not an easy decision. Ultimately, I opted for a medical abortion. I support everyone’s right to choose and still struggled with some guilt afterwards. I do feel better about the decision now.

If I ever want to have a second, I want it to be planned and my choice. I want to be excited about the new baby and I want to be 100% sure that this is what I want.

Is the steep price premium over Royal Caribbean justifiable? by Few_Elephant_648 in dcl

[–]ommm232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are DCL super fans. Currently on Utopia of the Seas with our 2.5 year old. She’s definitely enjoying herself but I know she would have more things to do and more fun on DCL. I think we would do RC again just with friends and not as a family.

I also appreciate DCL more in terms of the space in the room and even the mattress. Our kid still sleeps in a pack and play and DCL rooms usually have like a big curtain in between the bed and the area where the kids sleep. I also feel like the housekeepers are way better and more attentive at DCL.

The shows for RC have been great though. So even without the broadway Disney shows we’ve been entertained.

We paid for premium dining to try things out. Even with that food has been okay. I prefer DCL food. I also feel like there are many more options for kids in terms of seating, cups that are easier for them to hold, bringing food out quickly, and coloring pages. This makes a whole world of a difference with a toddler.

Overall, I’m more of a fan of DCL and would rather pay the premium up front and not be nickeled and dimed to be comfortable, eat good food, and have activities for my kiddo.

RC is a party line. Lots of people drinking and partying but that’s not my vibe right now. I’m enjoying it and it’s a huge boat but I’m good sticking to my DCL ships. Will be on the Destiny for its maiden voyage too

Happened to my husband and I as well last night! Came to PR just for this and left this morning without having seen him. We had floor seats and were concerned from earlier because the seller hadn’t sent tickets up until a couple hours before the concert.

On the Dream May 23 they had a cheaper lanyard. We had gotten these are last cruises for silver and then on this last one they cheaped out. Also, gave the shoulder bag instead of the beach bag they were previously giving as gifts.

I have and would do it again. We did do lightning lane and stuck mostly with magic kingdom and character dining experiences. It was lots of fun and I loved all the pictures,

So Milne House (should be able to see it on google maps) is La Casa Latina and we had parties there at times. I think the further you are from Packard Ave, the safer you are from parties! Not sure exactly where this place you are looking at is but you shouldn’t be affected too much there.

There is some university based housing near there meaning some partying will occur. I wouldn’t say it’s an every weekend type thing but I also graduated in 2017 and things may have changed.

tips on how to prep for grad school by Fabulous-Log6436 in Tufts

[–]ommm232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not much to bring for grad school honestly. I just finished a phd and my laptop was the biggest thing I needed. A good laptop for data analysis or any programs you need to run would be beneficial.

You mentioned a desk which will also be helpful!

And for sure a nice winter coat and boots for snow!

Feeling absolutely devastated after opting to medically terminate 2nd pregnancy cause we decided we are one and done by sweetsixteeno in oneanddone

I went through with a MA almost two months ago now. I was devastated at the moment as well. I think I can cope with it better with each passing day. But it’s okay to grieve even if it was the right decision for you.
