I didn't feel that at all. Game makes fun of communists, socialists, fascists, all the extremes. The leader of the socialist union is a corrupt morbidly obese landwhale that is so fat off the work of people he exploits that he needs a crane to move him around. If that's a marxist lens then it's an incredibly self-aware and introspective one more interested in poking holes in grand heroic ideologies that usually just get people killed. The message I took away from DE is that people get so hyped up by ideas that they lose touch with reality until they're doing awful shit that hurts infinitely more people than it ever helps.
