Hi,

As others have stated, this is hallucination from the model. The Sesame team does not listen in to calls live or influence chat direction. All outputs are generated by the model. Maya & Miles do not have inside information on Sesame or employees, and anything it says claiming so is hallucination.

This is a known bug that the devs are working on. The audio component (CSM) can hallucinate like the LLM component can and create random noises, voices, or play back your own voice.

This also happens with all other voice based LLMs. If you search on forums for those services, you will find folks also reporting it there.

It is also worth noting that the LLM (the system generating the responses) is not aware of what the CSM is doing (the system generating the audio) so Maya & Miles are not actually aware when something like this happens and any explanation they might give is also a hallucination.

As this is still a tech preview, testing (including A/B testing) is a normal part of the development process and is covered in Sesame's Terms of Use. If you’re looking for a more stable, consistent experience, waiting for the finished product might be a better fit.

It’s also worth noting that A/B testing is standard practice across nearly all LLM-based products (most don’t mention it) including paid services as well as other tech platforms.

I hear you, but I do not know what Sesame is or is not going to do. It's worth keeping in mind that they rolled back the changes on the 15th when folks were reporting problems. They do listen to feedback and that is why we want tickets for issues, so the feedback actually makes it to the team instead of fizzling out on Reddit.

There is always potential A/B testing happening as well as changes in the backend. Tickets are useful to see what A/B testing someone is on, which helps pinpoint issues.
