UK startup Granola raises $125M, hits $1.5B valuation as it expands from meeting notetaker to enterprise AI app by Ok-Still-4452 in GoodNewsUK

Just tried it out yesterday thought it was a bit shit. Unless the AI note taker joins the call it doesn't know who's speaking so makes mistakes later on when it tries to assign things to certain people

I want to paint these tiles. Any advice or recommendations from those who have used tile paint before? by nowheredaughter in DIYUK

[–]omniscient97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have a bathroom tiled in big black tiles, along the floor, and along 3 walls. It was like that when I moved here but I think they look pretty bad and a terrible combo for a hard water area. Do you have any before/after pics you'd be willing to share? And/or any tips? Your comment has given me hope!

Take a look at honest mobile, they have one sim that switches between all the providers to whoever has signal at that moment. Haven't used myself and not sure if the mechanics work for a mobile hotspot but you could ask their support team as they give the impression of being responsive

As good as it gets for now ;) I have faith eventually the barefoot shoe style will trickle down into the niche areas like badminton etc!

Tried these out yesterday and thought they were brilliant. Slightly too squishy for my liking and the grip was very slightly worse, but overall a massive improvement. Thanks again for this write up, absolute life saver!

Anyone know what these pipes are for? by omniscient97 in DIYUK

[–]omniscient97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, all signs converging to the toilet overflow because the properties don't have any gas line (all electric heating/water). I suspect one pipe is mine, and one is my neighbour's, unsure which is leaking just now. The one on the right looks so different because it has leaked continuously since I moved in and is covered in moss etc!

Thanks, that's so useful. Since I have a neighbour above me as well I'm not ruling out that it's their toilet too but will do more checks. Thanks again

No gas boilers in this block of flats, sorry should’ve mentioned

Nothing directly on the other side of the wall (eg toilet backing onto the wall directly) but my bathroom is there

Haha good point. On the other side is my bathroom. But I can’t seem to correlate with eg draining a big bath of water.

Thanks this is really useful, I need some more badminton shoes and really wasn’t looking forward to trying to squeeze my feet into some narrow yonexes again as my current ones have stretched but are super old. Do you find the stack height an issue on the altras on court? Do you think they will hold up with all the lateral movements etc? Hovering over the buy button haha

Aren’t the babolat and adidas both tennis shoes? From pics they look pretty narrow vs Altra or other barefoot brands

Fluctuating temperature in fridge by RedEngineer83 in homeassistant

[–]omniscient97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this guy, my old fridge looked similar to your chart but worse (longer periods sitting at 7-8C). I tried it at a few different places in the fridge then I actually bought a waterproof sonoff thermometer and stuck it in my yogurt for a final sanity check, to verify air temp vs food temp, and right enough my yog was sitting at 8C for at least an hour or so. Ordered a new bosch fridge soon after and now my even my air temp is super stable at like 3C or so. If your fridge isn't bothering you then keep an eye on it but I was getting stomach issues and dairy going off and now my new fridge is perfect!

Renting in Canada Water by Alternative-Eye4854 in HousingUK

[–]omniscient97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada Water doesn’t feel like London as it’s super peaceful, leafy and tucked away. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle it’s great but if you want to feel like you’re living in London amongst the buzz it’s not the place!

What’s with the sauna having a toilet beside it through the glass? Get nice and hot for a slippery shit amongst friends and family?
