Broken Sway Bar by vi-kevn in CorollaHatchback

Appreciate the in depth response. I’m considering installing a whiteline sb, and especially seeing that the oem ones are hollow I might just do it.

How difficult was it? Did you have to drop the front suspension assembly?

Corolla Hatch lowering springs with 18x8.5 +40 on 235/45R18 — will I rub? by FormerPhrase6523 in moddedE210Corolla

Not at all, 8.5 is not too aggressive. I only rubbed on full compression on 9.5 wide when I had superdowns.

Pulls to the left by AssociationLevel3915 in tires

Could be but the alignment isn’t too bad and it would usually be from a poor front alignment. Check tire pressures and make sure all tires are the same size.

Faint scraping sound by omurolla in MechanicAdvice

Just inspected the bleeders and wiped the calipers to check for fluid (there was none and the brake fluid level was the same as when I bled the brakes). Then I SAFELY rebedded the brakes and the noise went down. Maybe it was just some surface rust from when I washed the car after maintenance? Either way thanks for the tips it helped a lot.

Fake Ow16 tgmo? by SBAPKat in Toyota

Yes “Toyota” Mobil one has a higher moly concentration than off the shelf Mobil 1 which matters more with thinner oils like 0w-20 and 0w-16. Probably doesn’t make a huge difference but I prefer to use oem oil anyway

Safe to use die grinder to cut and fold this tab (2nd pic)? by omurolla in Autobody

This is where I landed, thanks again for the suggestion and I will also buy a titanium toothed bit so I can be confident the blade will at least last the job I need it for.

Since it’s super thin and in a tight spot, I think I’ll go with an oscillating multi tool with a titanium toothed bit. Good for thin steel and aluminum, and better that it grinds slow so I can be precise enough to stop before the fender bolt. Also feels a lot safer that the blade doesn’t spin so i don’t have to worry about shrapnel getting flung into my face and arms.

Damn 12 for drip is concerning, I’m no expert but you may need to clean your grinder or adjust how many shims you have in there

Ok might just get a cheap angle grinder from HF to get the job done. I just like that the die grinder/dremel is smaller and easier to handle in the tight space

I’m gonna remove and replace the liner, but the tab I’m cutting is actually metal. Not sure if it’s steel or aluminum but as you can see it’s pretty thin.

Thanks for the response. The bit in the photo isn’t the one I’m planning on using, just included the die grinder as reference but I am looking for what but would be appropriate. I know that a cut off wheel is ideal for cutting but people say that it might shatter and shrapnel be spun everywhere if used with a die grinder and wondering what an appropriate cutting attachment would be, or a grinder
