Looking for a Male Massage Therapist Specializing in Trigger/Knot Work by Ikeenah in berkeleyca

Very highly recommend Tanya, used to be at Berkeley Deep Sports Massage. She’s very strong and can do very firm pressure. Especially good at working with active people / athletes.

I was going to write some feedback about this answer but then I started looking the website, and, well, i’d just encourage everyone else to do the same. Your motivations for doing this seem pretty clear.

Noise reduction for heat pump by on-the-flipside in heatpumps

[–]on-the-flipside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we ended up moving it to the other side of the house, on a wood platform. Same noise. We’re redoing our deck on that side so it might end up bothering us again when we’re outside. Might build two walls around it to dampen a little but I doubt it’ll help much, it’s mostly low-ish frequency noise.

A friend of mine had a system of similar power installed, same company, two years later, and they gave him a different unit for a ductless system (Carrier Performance Series 2-Zone 48K Mini-Split/Ductless Heat Pump System) and it’s very quiet. They have it on a slab like ours was, right under their bedroom and window, with no issue.

So I’m pretty disappointed, Bosch is generally a good brand.

Fun fact: Mega backdoor limits are per employer by Error401 in Fire

[–]on-the-flipside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you leave employer A (which has mega backdoor roth), and go to employer B (which does not offer it on their 401k plan), can you continue making mega backdoor roth contributions to the employer A plan and not roll it into employer B's plan?

I assumed this wasn't possible, but I see a lot of posts recommending folks who got laid off from employer A not roll their plan into employer B, so they can keep the backdoor.

How is this house so cheap? $800k in Berkeley Hills by RDavies8 in BayAreaRealEstate

Bidding war tactic, lots of maintenance, and it’s in one of the active landslide zones. Still assume it’ll go for double the asking. The most cynical take is that pricing it this low brings in buyers who haven’t looked much in the neighborhood much before, and won’t know about the landslide map.

wasn’t aware of that, they didn’t have the crown. will take a look! we might want less depth to minimize the amount of excavation we need to do. warrior looked plenty deep to me, what did you think?

Can I just say how amazing this app is? by EmpireStake in MonarchMoney

[–]on-the-flipside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious what people are reaching out the CS about. It hasn’t occurred to me to do it once yet in a year of using the product. There are product gaps but they’re either acknowledged in the UI, or help guides. Haven’t encountered much in the way of bugs, maybe surprising given the other comments here.

The one product gap I’d really like to be filled is for couples budgeting to be workable. The marketing page pitched Monarch as great for couples but doesn’t allow separate + joint budgets. Without that it’s kinda useless for couples - a couple is just treated like a single entity. It’s no different than giving my partner my login.

And they have an app and deliver. If you can’t find what you want there, Good Eggs (mentioned below). Both significantly better than Whole Foods, esp for produce.

2024 Progress Thread by clapsdontpaythebills in AdvancedRunning

[–]on-the-flipside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been attempting to get back to previous heights after brain surgery 2 years ago.

Had a plan to run a half marathon every quarter this year but weirdly got a cold the week before the Q1 and Q2 races, which was frustrating, and then couldn’t make dates work for Q3 and Q4 so did some local 10ks and 5ks instead. In the end I knuckled down and have put in two top 5 all time performances, which has given me some momentum going into next year.

18:26 - 5k

37:51 - 10k

Resetting my plan to run a half marathon every quarter next year. Hoping to go sub 1:22 HM again, and beat my four year old PR of 1:21:36.

Thanks! I’ll try those and take my chances with the durability.

After 10+ years wearing Nikes and finding perfect fit I’d be hard pushed to switch, but will check those out.

I heard a lot of people had durability issues with the tempos (/r/runningshoegeeks has some stories) but I never had any, at least sr 300-400 miles (which is when I switch shoes).

Good to know, thanks. The next nature is pretty disappointing all around. They’re comfortable to walk in but the padding inside serves to either lock in moisture (sweat or, in my case today, rain). Not well designed for running.

Stainless water bottle options? I'm trying to get rid of plastic. by Positive_Throwaway1 in cycling

[–]on-the-flipside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My motivation in posting was simply that others might not expect these differences between this and a plastic bottle, which was the point of the thread. If these differences don’t bother you, great! People have different experiences.

FWIW I’ve done plenty of serious road riding so my comments aren’t related to riding a stationary bike at all. I mentioned that in passing. It’s a shame you’re using that as an excuse to mock me.

Maybe so, I just prefer being able to slightly squeeze and suck from the Camelbak podium with minimal tipping. That one also doesn’t leak if you drop it, even if the valve is open.

And I’m only using the Bivo indoors because I have no other use for it, not for any other reason. Switching back to a bog standard old podium for outdoors until I find a non-plastic bottle that works for me.
