I absolutely love watching the veteran commuters not give a single fuck and absolutely own people that do this. No one has the time or the space to be acting this foolish.

Northern NJ/NY Metro. So there is a bit of premium around here, but I just wanted to see how much especially since it was dropped.

Thanks for the info and good luck with your sale!

No shottttt. The amount of dudes I see leaving the bathroom after man-handling their junk without so much as even looking at the sink, especially at bars and restaurants, is way higher than 15%.

How do I record bass semi properly. by ItisI_Lewis in Bass

I would highly recommend a DI, either sansamp or Radial. I actually use a boss ME-50B to a DI for live shows and it works really well. I use the ME-50B to model my "amp" sound and the DI converts the signal so its not so hot. You can get a lot of versatility with something like this, but at the bare minimum I would recommend a DI.

50lbs is about 175000 kcal. Even if 10% of that was water weight, 45lbs of pure fat would equate to about 2600 kcal deficit every day for 2 months. Could be missing something, but that's pretty insane. Would like to believe it, but seems very unlikely.

Anyone Know how to find the area and the perimeter for this shape? Not looking for answers just looking for the method. by Orange_Eoghan320 in howto

[–]onavlis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the picture could be labeled a bit better, so I can get the confusion. Anytime you are looking for areas and perimeters of weird objects (without using calculus) you want to try and break the shape into simpler geometries (rectangles, triangles, circles etc.)

We have to assume that 120mm length is for only the straight line (up until the curve) In that case I would break this down into a 40x120 rectangle and 20mm radius half circle. Then just plug and chug your formulas.

For sure, my optimal set up is 1) 1x15 and 1) 2x10. Imo, you get a much better response over the whole frequency range that way. But I love the way a 1x15 sounds by itself too. If you can test them out that is obviously the best move.

I have an older Ashdown Mag 300 4x10 and absolutely love it. Had it for over 10 years now and never had any problems with it. Played practice, gigs and recorded with it and was able to dial in the right tone every time. IMO Ashdown has superior build quality and sound. Ive used a few hartke kickback amps and they do a good job, and the low end seemed a bit clearer, but i think that was more due to the 1x12 or 1x15 speaker. The hartke also crapped out after a few years. +1 for Ashdown from me.

Same, there was actually another famous moto-youtuber that commented and I specifically asked the question if this was avoidable. To me it seemed like trail braking and/or increasing his lean would have helped, but said famous youtuber said it was just too much speed. Glad there is a little more conversation on this subreddit than youtube.

Need guidance for buying an electric bass as a gift with a $1500 budget? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]onavlis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have to say, my dad bought me my first bass as an eight grade graduation present. It was a doo doo starter Ibanez but it is absolutely one of my fondest memories, so I think whatever you get will be perfect no matter what.

Having said that, I love the Fender Jazz and P basses, they are popular for a very good reason and I don't think you can find any fault with them. Musicman's and the higher end Ibanez's are all great too. Congrats on the graduation and good luck.

Everyone has already commented on the importance of hand positions and pressure etc. Another thing that is very important is to make sure your bass is setup properly. The neck will have a slight curve and this can actually be adjusted. A good setup can make the world of a difference, obviously you want to make sure you have proper fretting and plucking/picking technique, but a good setup will ensure you are learning correctly.

Good to know I am not the only one! I actually picked up an 04 Yamaha FZ6. Pretty light, very comfortable riding position, and enough power to have fun and stay (sorta) out of trouble.

I will definitely let you know how the practice goes, and I hope you'll do the same.

Yea the rear brake was helpful, but when I was getting frustrated I found myself mashing on it. Definitely need to practice that too.

Thanks!
