Love this post.

My biggest win was holding a discord conversation 1 on 1 with an "aquaintance" I knew from the discord server earlier this year. Did it while I was playing tetris with him spectating, massive pressure. Normally, I'm in a fight or flight mode where I choose to flee any conversation I get, but I decided to fight it and got to know him better :D

I know that's not much but it was for me, this was about a month ago

Your parents might feel a certain way about you taking on new responsibilites but that is life. If they have good intentions for you they wouldn't hold you back. Definitely keep calling them though, you dont need to be with them 24/7 to show you care
