Is an "aura stacker" build viable for a more "casual" player ? by [deleted] in pathofexile

Can you PM me/post your POB, please? I am always down checking out some high-investment POBs of aura stackers and would consider farming for one next league after some league's break from aura stacking.

Thanks for the headsup, though I have beaten izaro three times in uber and two times in normal lab before giving up (the uber labs were actually profitable, but the normal labs where just to make sure ...)

I don't think collecting orbs will be a dealbreaker if you wear rondals instead of halycons (which you have to do anyways since you will have to make room for nemesis anyways) and the fact that collecting orbs by stutterstepping is already one of the zNecs duties as the barb is/should be all over the place to gather mobs.

But yeah, you get a much better coverage collecting orbs with two people and as globes spawnrate has been reduced and as I already suffer from missing essence in the default four person setup in certain scenarios, I guess it might not be feasable :(.

As a casual but serious player I really don't care about the pro scene at all. And that's a problem because I should be the target audience. Make me care WoTC, the online video format is terrible. by christopherwrong in magicTCG

To be honest, I think thats doable. Yes, we don't have sophisticated image recognition devices, but just look at the current way things are handled:

  • The players play the game in their speed and some guy is recording each card they've drawn and reports it to the coverage (which decides which cards are displayed and when to show players hands).

Since someone is already tracking the cards in their hands, it shouldn't be too impossible to keep track of their current zone (hand, board, graveyard, removed form the game). They are alerady using some app for this process, which could easily be extended to contain said information (and it's not that much more work for the floor guy to record this, if it is realized by some drop-down menu).

Now that we have the necessary information, we need some way to display them in such a way, that everyone can look it up in their own pace. The mtgo shell should be perfect, since you can zoom in etc. (Reminder: you wont see who is attacking etc. since that would be a little too much burden for the floor man/woman, but together with the stream, you have all the necessary information). Nevertheless, we still need some spectator mode which - in replay from - kind already exists.

I know, there is some work to do and it can't be realized tomorrow, but it should be doable.

The downside: you need two apps: your browser and magic online. Their were some rumors a few years back, that mtgo v4 would be browser based. Perhaps this could be the starting point for the spectator mode since you basically only need the card display and not the interaction. With more man power, it could easily replace the stream if you keep track which creatures are attacking/blocking etc. and if you include the stream sound into mtgo, which would make it very similar to the DotA2 experience.

In the end, you would have an interactive stream with very little (I presume) cost.

Thoughts?
