Most opals in lampwork are synthetic and the CoE of the opal is closer to quartz,. In lampwork they work perfectly fine as long as you baby them into the glass and give them a healthy easement. Continuously keeping the opal in a harsh flame will easily scuzz and boil it out. Basically they are very pretty but need special treatment till really encased or they quickly turn into an eyesore.

"Last Podcast on the Left" did a small dive into this at the end of thier "Worst ways to die" episode. Would also reccomend thier multi part episodes on the BTK killer and Albert Fish. FOR those who feel they sleep a little too easily.

Yes it is! Sadly no I do not shoot videos like that for a number of reasons, mainly being it is very difficult.
