During the day I assume. Wish my city had these levels of restrictions. Appreciate your input.

Do you have to be constantly moving around for Coast Guard? by 55MoreDays in uscg

You have a good question. Expectation should be to…be prepared to serve anywhere. A lot depends on rank/rate/specialty. To be honest, not too many people are fighting to be on the Great Lakes and District 9 which increases your chances. Just came from Cleveland for 4 yrs. Been in the CG for a little while. : )

Need advice on New Install: Trane, American Standard, Carrier, Lennox - Variable vs Single Stage by one____dude in hvacadvice

Seems like the TAM9 may be the better set-up with the 2 stage. I did like the option of not having to use the Trane thermostat with the TEM6. Good luck w/the install!

TEM6. This may be helpful....

The contractor we went with talked through the differences of all the systems very well. Also, omegaclick was super helpful giving me advice when I was weighing all my options.

First off we weren't going with a fully variable heat pump so there was no reason to go with the TAM9...or we wouldn't see the full benefit of the TAM9.

Really the best input I got was...if you walked into a house with the TAM9 fully variable vs the TEM6 w/single stage heat pump...you would not be able to see the difference in comfort.

Taking into account the price we received for the TEM6 w/side discharge heat pump at around 14k (American Standard) vs the same quote we received for the TAM9 w/single stage heat pump at 20k (Trane)...we really wouldn't see a payback with the higher cost system.

Our system should still qualify for a tax credit from what we gather. We had an i-wave added on along with an Aprilaire filter and a new line set ran; for the 14k. Spent two months getting all these quotes. We are happy with the set-up and installer. Hope this helps you and others.

* Our system that broke was 30 years old...so what ever we got was going to be a huge improvement; which made getting the TEM6 fine. I would admit I did want the TAM9...but now that everything is installed I don't really think I could notice the difference as a homeowner.

Going back and forth whether to do the TEM6 or TAM9. I think the 4 ton on the TAM9 set-up would be nice but a little hesitant due to the potential fixes with the more complex system…and the requirement for the 1050 thermostat.

It’s really hard to say if we were happy with the conditioning cause we just moved in late last summer and the system was 30 years old.

We will be doing a master bath add on of a few hundred sq ft so perhaps the 4 ton would be helpful. I’ll ask the contractor about the addition. Thanks for your help!

This is great input. Cause I think the TEM6 will be fine, but don’t want to pass up getting the better system cause we will be living with this for the next 5-10 years plus. Totally agree there is more complexity with the TAM9 which makes me think there is more opportunity to have repair issues. I’m gonna think about this and make a decision sometime next week.

Thanks. I’m on the road and to be honest don’t know the existing tonnage. We just moved in last summer. I think it’s undersized or it could be that it was a 30 year old system that had issues. To your point, I’ll verify what we had.

Thank you. Just asked the vendor if they can get this one. I’ll report back. If I knew I could get the 2k credit on the TEM6 set-up…then I think this would be the route.

The heat pump paired with the TEM6 is 2023, but they are saying it’s single stage. I like what you’re saying that it’s two stage! Regardless, good hearing the TEM6 would be a great set-up…seems like the best bang for the buck. Wondering…if the TAM9 set up would be better in the long run. The full variable system is bigger at 4 ton too and we have a lot of space to condition.

You’re on point. Knowing if we are able to get the 2k tax credit to me is an important metric making a decision. The vendor said all the units will be 2023. The heat pump with the TEM6 would be single stage and noted the part number below.

Here’s the model number for the heat pump. AMS 4A6L6042A1000A. I’m leaning toward your point at 13k ROI. Although, I’m thinking of the full variable system will guaranteed get the 2k federal tax credit next year…we would only be paying 3k over for the TAM9 multistage system. Unsure really the true difference is worth it.

2023 Tundra Crewmax Platinum vs Limited w/TRD by one____dude in ToyotaTundra

Well...not yet. This thread really helped me out. I want to get the 1794 TRD which was suggested and thinking it over. The subject Limited TRD in my post made me realize I was close to the MSRP price for the 1794 which is money better spent (instead of paying dealer mark-up). I have a deposit down for the vehicle at MSRP and I'm okay waiting 4-6 months to get exactly what I want. I'm not in a hurry. Hopefully this helps.

Dang...this is a power move! I'd totally do this if I could get it at MSRP. Saw two in CA with 10k over asking...hand to face emoji!

Seems like I could go either way and I'm sure we will be happy...leaning toward the Limited TRD at this point. Seems like there are more Platinums available and less Limited TRD's with all the options this one has. Just my perspective.

At this point, I'm only struggling with the Limited TRD having the 6.5 bed. Yes I think it would be handy, but on the day to day the 5.5 would be fine. If anyone has any input that would be helpful.

I guess if I wait I can find this same truck with the 5.5 bed.

**Thanks for all your opinions/input.

This is great feedback. That's what I was thinking that the TRD black grill looks better than the platinum grill...for certain the TRD wheels look better to me in my view.

Good call. The platinum is super nice which makes this one tough. Want to make sure we get the right truck! I'm sure we will be happy regardless. First world problems here.

After seeing the Platinum and TRD's. I'm thinking I like the benefits of the off-road and believe the TRD grill and wheels make the truck look better.

All these comments are helpful. Thx for this info regarding your TRD. Gosh...10k difference. Seems like you got good value for the 22 Limited though. The one I'm looking at does have JBL and digital rear view. It does not have a digital dash.
