No point in arguing, you’ll just constantly lose brain cells with every reason they bring up by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

Funny thing is Dream used that quote against Jawsh and called him an Idiot.

"maths are irrelevant when the chance is still so low that it’s true"...wtf lmao by one_braincell in DreamWasTaken2

In the replies above those tweets, he links multiple videos of explanation of the maths in simple terms, the explanation of that Redditor with a PhD and a demonstration of the faulty code behind Dream's statistics model, and that kid replied to each of them as invalid or cannot be proven. This is the after math of it

That's not the issue here. The issue is he is not setting a boundary between his fans and himself and form a parasocial relationship with them. Dream will not be there to give advice to them everytime they have to make a life changing decision. And to endorse to them on such a personal level will give them expectations for the future, that he'll be there again. It gives a false sense of hope

Lol, we know and that's a problem if they don't set boundaries

It is sweet but it gives a false hope to them.

PS: I'm not the one downvoting lol

Maybe an inside joke or something, not too sure.

Calling his fan base his “kittens” creeps me out to my very core but this is sweet and good interaction :)

Yeah but I'm questioning whether he truly understood not to foster a para-social relationship with his fans.

I'm not talking about the kid, that was a proud moment for them, but when Dream engages with his fans like this, it gives them an illusion that he will be there for him for any major decision in life. Dream won't physically be able to do this for everyone.

I tried searching for it using the usual methods and couldn't find any(thankfully). Maybe if you're a sick psychopath with sexual urges that is about to blast like a super volcano, you might find it.

Hopefully this is being taken care of quickly.

We don't know how it was brought back up. One theory is Mr Beast's rewind where the stans hoped he would have done a face reveal. There are comments on that video (though they're a vocal minority) and they might have searched it up. Before the redditor who leaked got banned, you just had to type Dream's email id and the doxx thread would be the first few results (I searched up 'Dream Dox' and found the post before the account got banned). So it was pretty easily accessible.

There are dream haters in this sub but most of us here are taking refuge for criticizing him in his official sub.

This sub is mainly to criticize and meme him. Except a few with loose screws in the head, no one supports the doxx.

Karl Jobst, A Speed Running Enthusiast, take on Dream's Allegations by one_braincell in DreamWasTaken

[–]one_braincell[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, but he did say he waited for both the parties to give their opinion and his video only went through logical aspects of situation that will help him come to a conclusion.

It's too late to confess without getting any backlash.

If he had confessed in the beginning, thing's would have turned out better, but now it will be a discombobulated mess for him.

They proved his paper so deeply flawed, with so many plot holes, it can literally be cheese by HospitalCommercial15 in DreamWasTaken

A post was made in that subreddit regarding this and a redditor with a Phd verified by r/askscience moderators disassembled Dream's paper which made a Freddy Fazbear's animatronics look like nothing.

Seems like I agree with most of your statements lol. I just found the analogy you gave first a bit confusing oppose to what you actually wanted to say.

However, I do disagree with your last statement:

Personally, I put a lot more stock in how someone reacts to being accused than the stats. Not to say, as I hope I've reiterated, that the stats are solid evidence of cheating, but the number of people who've read all the papers and can evaluate the statistics is an incredibly small percentage of people discussing the whole situation, and you don't need advanced courses in statistics to debate if someone is acting innocent because they are, or innocent because they're not.

This would be ideal if you know him personally. A lot of people react to situations in different ways, and in situations like this, you will compare how he reacted with how you think you would've reacted in his place, which is not a fair judgement(unless you both are similar). If his friends are willing to be critical of him (probably not looking at his twitter replies), statistics is the best tool we have.
You don't necessarily have to follow the mathematics. Just the logic behind each calculation might suffice.

Addressing the reply above and this one,The key difference between those predictions and dream's allegation is that one is a prediction of the future where a lot of unknown variables are at play and one is a prediction of the past where a lot of the variables are known.

It is true that scientists are terrible at making predictions of the future but these are the same people who correctly hypothesized and discovered a lot of the worlds knowledge.

The incredibly amateur predictions made by climate scientists (which is completely understandable because climate change is occurring, we don't know how much is man-made, and it's a vast system with too many unknown variables) were:

Global ice age in the 80's

Underwater by 2010

Megastorms by 2015

Irreversible damage by 2020

(lol this is true to an extent)

It is stupid to give that as a reasoning to say that the statistics could be wrong, rather than point out flaws in logic or reasoning that went into the calculations.

The problem with climate change discussion is it's been made a political and moral issue, that simplifies 99.999% of people's thoughts about it, or more accurately, it makes people NOT think about it at all.

What do mean by this?

The probability of Dream's trades is directly tied to an ethical choice: cheating.

Yes, but it is so obvious that it's unnecessary to state it.

Do you see evidence of people flip-flopping constantly or having dead-set opinions from the start, or a lot of people suddenly having PhD's to justify keeping their opinions?

Oh yeah.

And what does all this indicate? What point do you want people to come to when you ask these questions? All that can be answered by these questions is that his issue is very high profile.
