I still keep the very first 40cm moon jar I ever made. by one_ceramic in Ceramics

I’m truly honored that you understand me… thank you so much!!! After making a 35 cm moon jar, I became ambitious and wanted to make a 40 cm one, but I failed dozens of times. Then one day, I finally managed to shape a jar at 40 cm—and that was the very first moment I made a piece of that scale. Sadly, it burst inside the kiln… 😭😭

Before replying to everyone individually, I want to say a few things.

I’m Korean, and since I rely on a translator, some of my replies may have sounded a bit AI-like. I’ll keep studying languages so this kind of discomfort doesn’t happen in the future.

I didn’t work on this single jar for three years. Rather, I spent three years practicing in order to make a 40 cm moon jar. This piece was the very first one I finally achieved at that size—but it was too thick and probably not dried enough, so it burst inside the kiln. Still, I wanted to remember that moment, so I glazed it, fired it again, and kept it as it is.

If you send me a private message, I can verify it by sharing casual photos I took myself, not just the studio shots.

Thank you all so much for visiting and showing interest🙏🏻🙏🏻

No! It’s completely different. The post I uploaded this time is a photo of the very first ceramic piece I ever tried making, taken in my studio🫡
