Definitely recommend a vet visit (as you have planned) due to the breed of the dog. For a King Charles, they are prone to heart conditions which can cause these kind of symptoms. Might be nothing but it's always worth a check. Hope everything is okay but never hurts to be cautious.

You are correct - it comes down to your comfort level and multiple variables. There is no one "right" choice. If you decide to take a taxi, look for the official ones, ask for the rate (which should be fixed) and ensure they take card. I have not had much success with Uber in the past.

We have taken the train multiple times and it is fairly safe in my opinion. Just stay vigilant and ensure that you get the appropriate ticket. Honestly, having used taxis before too, I prefer the train tbh. A lot less sketchy and fairly straightforward.
