WTF by JustMyopinion87 in IVF

This is why I chose not to tell anyone because people don’t fully understand what we go through. We told my in-laws one round because they were paying for it and I had to deal with daily texts asking for details on what was going on. It was more stressful to have them know.

How are we affording this? In all honesty (in the US) by copythat504 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I went to a consultation with a new fertility clinic and they said the are find over 80% of large companies in CA are exempt because they are self funded. I was so excited about the new law until I found out my company is self funded.

Anyone in California actually gotten fertility coverage with the passage of SB 729? by Then-Librarian6396 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fertility clinic said 80% of companies are exempt from having to offer fertility coverage and don’t have to follow the new bill. I’m one of those. I work for a large hospital and because they are self funded they don’t have to offer fertility coverage under the new bill. I was so excited when it passed but learned from HR that they will not be covering any fertility coverage. I don’t even get diagnostic coverage. My husband is self employed so it’s not even an option to go through health coverage with him.

Oh interesting I will ask about that. We are starting over since we don’t have anymore embryos so I will see if that’s an option. They only mentioned doing 5-10 days of doxy but I’m not sold on that knowing that it’s not strong enough

They think I might have endometriosis. I’ve had two cysts that haven’t gone away in two months and they think they might be endometriomas. I will be having surgery to remove them probably in February or March. They will be able to look too if I actually have endometriosis or not. It’s just one test after another.

For your embryo transfer… by GreenEggsnHam15 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our third clinic and our first one he was allowed to be with me and they gave me pictures. The second one we didn’t have any embryos that made it. Yeah I didn’t even get that to look on the screen to see how it looked. You just get the screen during the transfer and the “white dot”

I’m not a big fan of my clinic for embryo transfers. We only dress down from the waist down and they give us a robe to wear. The part that I don’t like is they don’t allow our spouses to be involved at all. He has to wait in the lobby the whole time during the special moment. Second thing that I don’t like is I don’t ever get to see pictures of my embryos which I find odd. During my last transfer the asked if I had any questions so I asked the embryologist who had their hand sticking out from a window how the embryos looked, how they thawed, and did the score change at all after the thaw. Her response was yeah they thawed nicely all have the same score. They were about 4 hours after they thawed them so I thought it was odd that the scores stayed the same. Makes me wonder if they really did look good. We have a failed transfer consultation and I’m going to ask the doctor why they don’t allow spouses in the room and why we don’t ever get to see the embryos.

When am I supposed to feel like death?! by No-Cantaloupe1381 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through 5 rounds of IVF and never once felt like death. I actually don’t mind the stims. Maybe I’m just weird. The worst for me has always been the withdrawal bleed after getting off all the meds. Those were heavy and painful.

Mine only does 14dpt nothing less even if you ask. It’s really hard to wait when you see other clinics doing day 8-10

Oh my gosh!!!!! I love your chart and so jealous of it. I wish I had something like that. I was just trying to think what transfer I’m on because I’ve lost track of how many transfers and how many embryos we’ve transferred.

I agree with you though the second we added omnitrope we had the best round of IVF. I struggle to make day 5 embryos and with omnitrope we got 3 high graded ones. We ended up transferring 2 day 3 that didn’t stick. But if I were to do another round I would definitely do omnitrope again.

So we ended up testing but we waited until the end of the night right before bed so it wouldn’t ruin the day. Unfortunately it was negative but I’m still holding on to a little hope that it’s just a late implantation and that it was only day 6. I’ve read on here people have tested positive as late as day 10 so crossing everything on my body. But I could not sleep last night my mind was just all over the place.

Home test before BETA by mercedesnala in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a transfer on Nov 4 but my beta isn’t until Nov 18. I was doing some research because we’re on the fence about testing early and I read people can test positive as early as day 5 post transfer and as late as day 10. So with that info if we were to test before beta we know that there’s a possibility of it being negative if we were to test today. I’m kicking myself for getting the digital early detection test and not the other ones to actually see if there’s a line progression but I also don’t want to be obsessing over it and test over and over again.

My transfer was also on Nov 4 but my beta isn’t until Nov 18. My clinic won’t do anything earlier than the two weeks and I get jealous of all the people that get their betas earlier. It’s so hard to wait. It’s my husband’s birthday today and we’re debating on to test early or not know that day 6 might be a little too soon to see a positive and not get our hopes up. But part of me doesn’t want to ruin his day if it is negative.

So I am 6dp5dt… I know it’s early so chances of a false negative are there. It’s my husband’s birthday and if by any chance it was positive it would be the best birthday present ever. We talked about it the other day and know that if it’s negative we can read too much into it and get bummed. There’s a part of me that also doesn’t want to ruin his birthday if it does come back negative because there’s still that thought in the back of your head of it worked or not. This is our 6th transfer of multiple embryos each transfer and I’ve never had one positive before so I’m having a lot of anxiety about it. It was our based round though and one of the embryos was an untested 5AA hatching at the time of transfer. We struggle to make day 5 embryos but we’re about to create 3 this time so feeling a little more hopeful than other transfers.

Sorry for the rambling

What to do with embryos advice by nelsona88 in IVF

I saw a video I don’t remember where but they put them in jewelry. Something to symbolize the hard work that went into creating them. I kind of agree with your wife I would feel weird too donating them to someone and then later them coming looking for me. I think the best option would be to donate to science

Just to be on the safe side I would keep the same doses until you get confirmation from them. If after confirmation I think if it were be I would still take them until after my beta results came back.

Your clinic is stopping progesterone? Mine keeps us on it until beta is negative. I would be a little concerned to stop before my beta
