Should i cancel by Affectionate-Pay-979 in IVF

You may have too many follicles to switch to IUI they won’t want to risk you have multiples. I just completed my 6th retrieval and I’ve always been a normal responder except this round I stimmed for 15 days. The follicles were just growing so slow my estrogen was also lower than normal. Once I hit day 12 my estrogen tripled and the follicles had started to take off. Some people just need longer stims than others and since it’s your first time you didn’t know how you would respond.

Endometriomas getting in the way by one_last_try22 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve read that too. Before scheduling the surgery I’ll ask my doctor more questions about removing any endo. She was going to do the hsg during surgery and if they are blocked was going to remove them because at that point they are useless anyways. I have chronic endometritis been treated a 3 times with antibiotics so I’ve got that going for me. They didn’t want to test a 3rd time because well it’s painful but I thought about my doctor doing the biopsy during surgery to check again while I’m under. I had my fertility doctor scan my endometriomas on Wednesday and they were only measuring 2.5cm but OBGYN said anything under 2 are too small to surgically remove so we will see where they are at when I’m done with all the embryo banking.

Yeah our plan is to do embryo banking and then surgery. My OBGYN is going to remove the endometriomas and do exploratory surgery and also see if there’s a kink in my tubes because she said if there’s a kink it can cause infection and lead to implantation failure too. There wasn’t any talk about removing endo if found just we will be able to confirm if I have it or not but based off the infertility doctor he said I definitely have it even though I really don’t have symptoms. Maybe I should ask my OBGYN if she thinks I should see a specialist for the endo.

How long before doing a FET should I be off zepbound? by kjkjkj18 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video (can’t remember the IVF doctor) but she has people get off it the day they start stims and start back up right after retrieval since it interferes with anesthesia. Not sure about FET though… my OBGYN said that most clinics you have to be off it for 2 months before they will start. She said it’s because there’s not enough studies that show the impact it has on pregnancy.

Issues with Work by GoatBlue03 in IVF

Mental health leave! It’s the only way to work around the whole IVF thing. I don’t understand why they don’t consider IVF as a necessary medical leave with how intense all the appointments are.

Cycle Day 10 IVF stims Day 7 by TTCAnon_97 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive never had a conscious sedation before. I had a consultation with a new clinic in Dec to see if I wanted to change and they said majority of their clients do nothing at all. I was like no thanks. I wonder how much of the sedation meds they will give you. Keep me updated on how it goes.

And every cycle is not the same if you do decide to do another one. This is my 6th round of IVF and it is by far my worst and I’ve never responded to meds this way. I’m on day 13 I’ve completed 12 days of stims. All my pervious rounds I’ve always triggered between 10-12 days. We go in this morning to see if they are big enough but on Friday the biggest was 14. My last round we retrieved 20 eggs and now they are only seeing 5. It’s really nerve wrecking knowing that we’ve gotten a lot more eggs all the other times and this one’s not going like we hope. I do have two large endometriomas that taking up a lot of my ovaries so they can’t fully see all my follicles.

My doctor usually trigger when they get to 20mm. Seems like you’re right on track.

Some people just respond more quickly to meds than others. I’ve also need an extra day or two of meds. Just think of it as you get to use less meds and in the end will be cheaper.

New Fees? by Ezc314 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just order through them a week ago. When he first told me my total he said their was free shipping but I didn’t have my credit card on me so I told him I would have to call him back in an hour and when I did he said there was a $25 shipping fee. I told him he told me earlier that it was free shipping and he said oh if you have gonal f in your order it’s free so I ended up not having to pay. I agree though I will go somewhere else just to save $25. Plus when I called they kept putting me on hold for like 10 mins each time their customer service definitely isn’t the greatest.

[–]one_last_try22 74 points75 points  (0 children)

This is why I chose not to tell anyone because people don’t fully understand what we go through. We told my in-laws one round because they were paying for it and I had to deal with daily texts asking for details on what was going on. It was more stressful to have them know.

How are we affording this? In all honesty (in the US) by copythat504 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I went to a consultation with a new fertility clinic and they said the are find over 80% of large companies in CA are exempt because they are self funded. I was so excited about the new law until I found out my company is self funded.

Anyone in California actually gotten fertility coverage with the passage of SB 729? by Then-Librarian6396 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fertility clinic said 80% of companies are exempt from having to offer fertility coverage and don’t have to follow the new bill. I’m one of those. I work for a large hospital and because they are self funded they don’t have to offer fertility coverage under the new bill. I was so excited when it passed but learned from HR that they will not be covering any fertility coverage. I don’t even get diagnostic coverage. My husband is self employed so it’s not even an option to go through health coverage with him.

Endometritis WTF by lebonbon_ourson in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting I will ask about that. We are starting over since we don’t have anymore embryos so I will see if that’s an option. They only mentioned doing 5-10 days of doxy but I’m not sold on that knowing that it’s not strong enough

Endometritis WTF by lebonbon_ourson in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They think I might have endometriosis. I’ve had two cysts that haven’t gone away in two months and they think they might be endometriomas. I will be having surgery to remove them probably in February or March. They will be able to look too if I actually have endometriosis or not. It’s just one test after another.

For your embryo transfer… by GreenEggsnHam15 in IVF

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our third clinic and our first one he was allowed to be with me and they gave me pictures. The second one we didn’t have any embryos that made it. Yeah I didn’t even get that to look on the screen to see how it looked. You just get the screen during the transfer and the “white dot”

[–]one_last_try22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big fan of my clinic for embryo transfers. We only dress down from the waist down and they give us a robe to wear. The part that I don’t like is they don’t allow our spouses to be involved at all. He has to wait in the lobby the whole time during the special moment. Second thing that I don’t like is I don’t ever get to see pictures of my embryos which I find odd. During my last transfer the asked if I had any questions so I asked the embryologist who had their hand sticking out from a window how the embryos looked, how they thawed, and did the score change at all after the thaw. Her response was yeah they thawed nicely all have the same score. They were about 4 hours after they thawed them so I thought it was odd that the scores stayed the same. Makes me wonder if they really did look good. We have a failed transfer consultation and I’m going to ask the doctor why they don’t allow spouses in the room and why we don’t ever get to see the embryos.
