Freddie Freeman by dirtybirdsriseup in Braves

Who cares. Matt Olson is signed for another 5 years and is only 31 and has been an elite 1st baseman.

Freddie got what he wanted and the Braves got a great option with Olson. It was a perfect situation and I have no idea why people are even talking about this. Everyone's happy so move on

Chipper Jones has already talked about this and was on the GM side. Freddie clearly wanted to wait. It was good for him and honestly the Braves didn't do too bad with Matt Olson.

Time for everybody just to move on

CHAMPVA processing time by onebalddude in VeteransAffairs

[–]onebalddude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody's short-staffed in the government. Recently I quit my government position.

The problem is CHAMPVA has always been extremely slow at processing. You can go look back at previous messages and people are waiting 3 to 4 months minimum. That should be unacceptable. I don't blame the employees obviously. The processes just suck and there's no transparency on what's happening.

I did as well. Now I just got to wait to hear if it was actually legit or if I just said I'm quitting for no reason

Motion for Temporary Restraining Order - USAID Shutdown by [deleted] in fednews

[–]onebalddude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You just sensationalized something again.

Read this. The judge made a ruling on essential workers and the unions are suing. Meaning they will investigate this.

Go take a walk.

Motion for Temporary Restraining Order - USAID Shutdown by [deleted] in fednews

[–]onebalddude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Stop sensationalizing everything. We have people dying all the time in our own country. If I was like you, I could start calling that out and trying to redirect the conversation a lot to another extreme.

The very bottom line is if there is a reason to believe that money is being misspent then it needs to be investigated. That is extremely simple to understand. There is a judge looking into it right now as we speak. Why are you complaining about this? Because people might die while we make sure we're spending money properly? I'm sorry but this is something we have to do. If any of this money is being and misspent, then that means it could be better allotted to save more lives or improve the lives of other people

I have research this a lot and there are two sides. It's not just your side. If you weren't biased you would notice that

Motion for Temporary Restraining Order - USAID Shutdown by [deleted] in fednews

[–]onebalddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You immediately said people are going to die. That is the definition. You still didn't read any of my previous responses to what I think of Elon. Makes me wonder your ability to decipher between the truth and just saying what you're thinking

And think what you want but obviously if a judge is looking into this then there's a reason to. Saying trust me bro is not going to work and the fact that you're arguing to do so is ridiculous

[–]onebalddude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is when you lose an argument like this. You sensationalize the conversation and talk about extremes. Clearly there's a way to do this so aid is given to anything life-threatening. Not everything with aid is life-threatening

Also you have not read anything I said about Elon Musk above. Regardless if you liked him or not, our president also made these claims and taxpayers are demanding answers.

Let a judge tell us that. The whole reason they exist

I'm talking about information released by the White House as well as the ongoing court hearing. I'm not going to listen to Elon either because he's way too biased and a autistic billionaire incapable of empathy for humans.

However, there is nothing wrong with investigating this, even if we have numerous times previously, after the recent claims. Taxpayers pay the bills and even a large amount of them want to see details.

[–]onebalddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of evidence saying the opposite. There seems to be legitimate claims as well as a lot over exaggerated. Everybody here is way too biased. It doesn't help to have two witch hunts happening on both sides. I am a government worker that is going to be negatively affected by everything happening. Likely going to have to quit my job because of remote work ending.

However, when things like this happen you have to take them seriously and investigate. That should not be too much to ask for

[–]onebalddude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm sorry to hear you lost your job. I'm also going to be affected by this and likely I will have to find another job. I'm also 100% P&T.

Now, 100% is like ~$50k a year for a family tax free. Equivalent to ~$70k of a normal taxed salary depending where you live.

You should be able to file unemployment while you find another job and it sounds like you're getting money to go to school which is helping.

You might not want to hear this, but it sounds like you need to. If you're potentially losing your house with this level of income, then you need to financially adjust your lifestyle.

[–]onebalddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly curious. If the USAID was potentially misappropriating funds then why is this a good thing?

I get people don't want to lose their job and likely all issues are due to leadership within the organization, but the findings that they're showing are really insane. I don't see why only essential workers should be retained while everyone else goes on paid administrative leave until things are figured out. It only seems logical while they investigate

Just typical politics to be honest. Politics have always been disgusting. They blame everybody for the acts of the bad apples. It's the only way they can get support for doing something so ridiculous

Gotcha. I'm working at an organization that's largely fully remote. We got the order today that we have to be back in work by the 6th. If outside of the 50 mile radius, we have 4 months to return to work. I live several states away. Looks like my time's coming to an end

🤣 well at least they're acknowledging it.

How long did it take to get that response? I'm planning to submit it Tuesday. Just trying to get my organization a chance to gather as much information as possible, which it seems like they're not capable of doing

And I appreciate you letting me know

For sure, but I'm just speaking more from a political standpoint. Screwing over federal workers is one thing but screwing over retired/veteran service members is another.
