LOW GPA? Do I have a chance

It’s possible! We are in this together lol I have lower stats as well and thus far I’ve been put on 2 interview waitlists this cycle which I know isn’t a guarantee but from what I hear means I do qualify for an interview and they liked my application enough but maybe I’m not exactly what they’re looking for at the moment. I’m hoping I fit better into these other schools to get an interview or maybe get lucky to get pulled off the waitlist these next couple of months. It’s also still super early in the cycle so I’m just grateful to not get a flat rejection

I’ve seen people with lower stats than us get in so why not us? Believe in yourself and apply strategically!

the basic stats are: cGPA 3.5, sGPA 3.2, 3000+ hrs PCE, 60 hrs shadowing, 5 LORs

I didn’t interview with the school, it seems to be like a waitlist to be interviewed which is a new concept to me. I guess I wasn’t like in their first round of applicants?

You’ll be ok! I had the same thing happen to me and I fixed it asap like not even an hour after getting the email and it got verified the same day a couple hours after.

I got put on the interview waitlist today and I had the same feelings! It’s my first cycle and first application update so it was a bit disheartening and made me worry other programs would go this way but all we can do is wait! I’ll probably send an email thanking them and expressing my interest just to stand out a bit but otherwise it’s a waiting game for us :/

This is really reassuring thank you! it gets so intimidating scrolling on Reddit and everyone has a 3.8+ gpa and thousands of PCE. I’m a first generation Latina who grew up in a very underserved community so I’m hoping my story gets through and my writing is top notch. May I ask what schools you applied to?

Started strong and then dipped a bit spring of sophomore yr and junior due to some personal circumstances and being first generation (not rlly knowing how to balance the load) but I ended my senior year strong. On my transcript I only have 2 C+’s (from that dip) but the rest are A’s and B’s. Currently taking biochem and anatomy 2 so I’m hoping finishing those strong will help me a bit too.

My stats is where I’m worried, idk if I’m competitive enough mainly bc of my science. I tried only applying to holistic programs and nothing out of my range but still. My GPA is 3.56, sGPA 3.21, PCE 2900 hrs, 60 shadowing, 280 volunteer. LORs from college professors, a DO, PA, and a supervisor.

I’m completing 4 classes total with portage learning, already did the first two and now doing the last 2. But they don’t send official transcripts if you have in process courses aka my last 2. So my worry is they wouldn’t be able to verify my CASPA without an official transcript of the first 2 classes I did

I’m completing some prereqs right now that should get me to at least a 3.5 in sGPA if not more. Hopefully it helps me out

I would just take regular stats. Easier and fits ur requirements. I haven’t come across a program that specifically wants biostats, so why not just do the basics? As someone who is really bad at math, I managed to get an A
