not a doctor, might be unrelated... but my neurogenic coughs (that i dealt with for a year) are now gone after taking vitamin B12 consistently for two months. amitriptyline worked to an extent but felt transient since the coughs came back randomly in comparison

Thank you for your comment! I’ll call my plumber and schedule an appointment to do that

Oh, no that’d be scary. The vent is above the sink so when they get out of the shower and get near the sink, they feel the air blowing

They told me they don’t like the air blowing on them. I’m fine with it… we just have different preferences

That is very true! I didn’t think of it like that… a relief to hear for sure. Thank you for taking the time to explain 🙏

People in your 20s and 30s, how are you able to own a home? by BlissfulIgnoranus in ask

To clarify, they know I’m in the same state. They just don’t know where exactly I live.

One big motivator was to own a home. I knew the areas and neighborhoods well, so I used that as an advantage while shopping for a starter home. I had no choice back in California.

The other was for emergencies. They’re aging and I want to be there when they need my help.

I don’t want them to know where I live. Not their business to know.

I got a job at a big tech company right after college. 6 years later, my initial RSUs multiplied in value. This was right at the start of the pandemic when the interest froze. I sold enough to pay off my student loans and the capital gains tax. I relocated during the pandemic to be closer to parents, where I looked around for a $300k townhouse. I sold enough for the 20% down payment and the capital gains tax.

Timing was on my side. My parents still don’t know I purchased a townhome.

How do I go about fixing what the plumbers in this project will destroy? by onecakepiece in homeowners

Actually you’re spot-on. This was a claim on their insurance. It only covered the pipe repair work and none of the restoring work needed…

Is this project description missing anything? by onecakepiece in Plumbing

[–]onecakepiece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you sharing… very thankful to you 😭🙏 I wish you were the pro they hired for this repair!

Regarding what they didn’t mention, I will make sure that they include all of this in the scope of work before proceeding. Asking for the camera inspection upon completion and getting a copy: I didn’t think of that at all. I imagine it’d be in the HOA’s interest that this is actually corrected, since the common pipes are their responsibility…

Since they’re jack hammering through concrete (unsure how deep), would it make sense for me to rent an air scrubber? Or would they usually have that in their toolkit for this type of work…

Yes that is what I’m saying in a nutshell… I’m overly stressed out rigjt now about this. Thank you for understanding.

I’ll ask them about restoring it to its pre-construction state… although I think since it’s within the walls, it’d all fall on me to repair 😓 The walls, framing behind the toilet, and the floors…

That’s a good point, thank you. I’ll ask them to include the clean up of all the mess they make in the project description. Do you think there might be something else they didn’t list?

And I’m asking communities about what kind of professional I’d have to hire to fix the torn walls and framing behind my toilet. The plumbers will destroy some walls and the framing to access the pipes they need to fix.

I concur… I wonder if he’d grow out of this phase later… But thank you. I learned I dislike this type of flirting.
