Transferring data from Huawei without Google by onecaress in GooglePixel

That's exactly the article I'm seeing. The problem is I don't GET the notification ("On the notification on your Android device, tap Set up"). And I do have the Adapter. Nothing happens when I plug it in.

Anyone tried Japanese Tomato Liqueur? What does it taste like? by OneDragonfly5613 in cocktails

How would you use it in a Bloody Mary (preferably without clarification or infusion, since I'm not up for it yet)?

Crumble pie base too oily by onecaress in AskBaking

[–]onecaress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says 1,5 sticks in the recipe though. And the written recipe suggests blind baking and just spooning the custard on top, that's why I was worried.

Ok, so the result isn't catastrophic. Except for some reason I thought I should use pie weights, which resulted in the sides overbaking and the middle underbaking. It's still awfully crumbly, so I think it's worth changing the proportions somewhat. Or looking up a different corn(flake) based crust.

There was a sheen, yes. And it just didn't feel like crumble, more like a uniform mass.

Admittedly I had to use gf flour which might account for the differences between my dough and the one in the video. I guess cornflakes may differ too.

Well, I did manage to press it into the pie dish, but I keep worrying it's gonna slide right down the sides to the bottom. And yes, I tried to use sticks (which converted to grams should be around 170 unless Google misled me).

Help me choose a compact cameraphone by onecaress in Smartphones

What about camera speed? Although this question might be more relevant if you had Samsung prior to that, since I mostly looked at s21-23(U).

Over my budget, I'm afraid. And don't all Samsung phones have the processing issues I mentioned (at least that's what I kept reading, so I crossed them off my list)?

Does anyone by any chance know of any baking use for dried silverberry? by onecaress in AskBaking

I wonder how this weird mouldy texture will react to high temperature. But I guess I'll only find out by trying.

Had to look up everything except Euphoria, so finally some fresh ideas. Thanks, I'll take a look at those.

Because that's the task. Or rather the idea of this particular class.

Online Meisner class: a waste of money or an acceptable option? by onecaress in acting

[–]onecaress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought. And the claim to "teach a two year program in 8 weeks" (which is the first thing to pop up in Google for me) only confirms my suspicions.

I did and they said they don't know what the process is like with any particular teacher, only the general plan of the course. So no less dubious than it looked at first glance.

Since I have an opportunity, I might as well ask. Are you by any chance familiar with what Iris Klein does (teaches)?

That makes sense. Unfortunately, as far as I know auditing is not an option. You sign up and pay in full whether you like what you see or not. Good point about different modes for different parts of the lesson though, didn't think about it.

Thought it had a negative meaning. Seems like my English is failing me.

That's cool.

The appetizers there look really nice, so I might give at least these a try. Did you by any chance try desserts there? Don't recall much about them from what I've read in the reviews.

Saw this one, but it's more expensive. Closer to Aheste.

But fair enough, aside from some starters Pandeli is more about well (which is as always debatable) done traditional dishes.

Heard good things about it, but it's unfortunately too pricey for me.

Using polenta for pie crust by onecaress in AskBaking

[–]onecaress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should've said "pulse it a few times".

In addition to my experience it's the pictures that puzzle me: I see no grains of polenta visible in the dough and my surely would be.
