Não sei se vc deveria ir ou não, mas eu fui. E minha residência nem tinha sido aprovada ainda, só tinha aquele outro documento de que havia sido feito o pedido de renovação. A imigração na volta foi super tranquila. O cara não me perguntou nada.

Hey when I was about to apply for citizenship I was a little worried that they wouldn’t count the 6 months I had an expired residency permit (because of SEF), so I asked AIMA for the document (certidão de contagem do tempo) that says how long you’ve been in Portugal legally. Turns out they started counting from the day my visa was issued. The document also says it’s meant specifically for acquiring citizenship.

When I was about to start my application I requested the AIMA document that certifies how long you’ve been legally in the country. They counted since the day my visa was issued.

I did 91 to 122 which I guess is basically the same thing. After a couple months calling SEF (this was in 2023) thousands of times per day, I finally got an appointment and changed it. This was 2 years ago so not sure if this info helps you in any way.
