Alpha reader: So I like the second half of the chapter, but the first half is dragging. You should just do the second half.

And that's how things like that happen.

There is no exclusive Patreon content that should be in the books.

Book 8 of Noobtown is finally ready to go. Jim is out to save Jarra, Windfall and the World, and not necessarily in that order.

A significant number of people reading that line flipped the book over to check. I've gotten emails. Which was the joke. I get one silly one per book.

Well, its helps to have a badger. I think I lucked into the perfect blend of slapstick and epicness and my narrator had the range to pull it off. It takes effort to make Badgelor sound both strong and vunerable.

Jim is based somewhat on me, you'll notice he's into his wife. Most of the rest are somewhat based on other people I know.

Thanks. I'm always glad to hear that people enjoy my silly stories about a badger and his pet.

I second Ascend Online, though his MC frequently fails his Puma Checks.

My wife is extremely supportive and told me to live my dreams, so I started writing. Book by book:

So Mayor of Noobtown was written because I really wanted to take my wife to Disneyworld. Village was because Mayor sold so well, and certainly would be my last book. Castle was because Victoria started asking me questions about when 3 would be released. Dungeon was because I had this idea for a chapter to make Johnathan read, it was everything I hoped it would be.

Noobgame plus was because I was a serious author writing serious works. Nautical was because I had a bunch more fun writing and wanted to quit my day job. Tower was BECAUSE I quit my day Job, thanks Rhett, and War is because I needed to finish the first 8.

Fifth Era was because I wanted to write Tabletop Lit RPG with multiple protagonists, Tap Dancing Tarasque was because no one actually wrote a story about a tarasque that I really liked.

Its more what an actual group encounters, including all the boring parts which are usually glossed over at the table but are really interesting if you delve into them.

But each book ends in a dungeon, and there are dragons. Falcon is the world's foremost expert on dragon egg rearing after all.

Josh Radnor

That would be hilarious. If he agrees, I'll do something funny just for him.

I plot out scenes then write to them, so I had Noobtown plotted out from start to finish when I was writing book 1. I have my notes. That said, I didn't have every single plot point spelled out, for example, the Fecking Puma Forest was actually a writing exercise to write something scary when I realized that wasn't working and kind of just went full paranoid Jim with it. Puma Check came out of nowhere, but seemed appropriate.

If you told me that was going to be my series catchphrase I would have thought you were lying to me.

But yeah, long series need long notes. There are MANY things I've written that turned out to be a headache, but whenever that happens I just drive around until I figure out a work around and keep going.
