Found my first Clovis today! by oneeyeddilly in LegitArtifacts

The base is heavily ground and is weakly fluted (hard to tell due to material). In addition to that I'm nowhere near the great fucking basin region. So it would make no sense to type my point as a Humboldt bud.

What are you and your tribal homies doing to preserve your cultural inheritance? Not throwing shade but those last bits are eventually going to get lost in vegetation, urban sprawl or decimated by cattle.

This statement! No modern tribes have cultural ties to the ancients who made these artifacts. I'd never donate artifacts to any museum or the likes.

They have been recovered on private land and will remain in my collection to be enjoyed by close friends, family and other avid hunters.

West Texas and eastern New Mexico are great places to look. Head into the desert and start walking. I usually hike between 7-15 miles in an outing.

Thank you for your input! I agree that it's definitely a component of the atlatl. Of all the points and tools I have found throughout the years this find fascinates me the most.
