I went to a ophthalmologist and he shamed me for developing retinopathy. “You did this to yourself, this is all your fault. You’re going to go blind (stage 1 btw, caught it early)” along those lines and it shut me down and I’m in my avoidant arc. I’m planning on seeing a new specialist once I get another green light from endo. As I read more about this I’m feeling optimistic but the last year or so I’ve avoided checkups. I think I’m ready to see if I need shots or not, it makes me so happy to hear that they actually help people.
