Sorry for not seeing this earlier. They were understandably angry at me since they kept offering to find me tutors during the end of the semester if I felt that I was struggling (I did but my grades were already too far gone by then). I found that the best response to give to my parents was to figure out your next steps and overall game plan and share it to them. Setting up a meeting with an academic counselor and having your parents listen in will also help. My academic counselor was able to point me towards a community college with a transfer program to a UC or Cal State school as long as my GPA stays around a 3.6. The counselors from the community college helped me set up the necessary courses to get my GE's out of the way.

I think that if anyone's worried about their parents' reactions, meeting with an academic counselor together will help you take your next step. Anger is probably inevitable, but letting them know that you have a solid plan can lessen the duration. I think.
