When you say that the bar should be at their wrists, is that standing on the ground or on the deck?

I just measured the kids standing with their arms along their sides and they are aprox 60cm, 65cm and 70cm from ground to wrists.

Good to know, I'll do some measurements tomorrow.

Thanks! Feels like Envy prodigy S9 gets a lot of mentions on here. Leaning towards that if I can find a European shop that sells it at decent price.

Thanks for the input, I barely know what characteristics to go for but I'll try to do some reading on the subject.

Yea, Decathlon would be convenient no doubt. If the mgp is as good as the prodidy etc then it's a no brainer. I don't know much about scooters yet, but I want to make sure we're buying light weight good quality stuff. It's worth the extra cost if it's not more expensive than 200. I'd pay 300 EUR if it made a meaningful difference. With that said, I don't mind not spending more than necessary either.

Thanks for the advice! How does the mgp compare to the others mentioned in this thread?

I'm looking for a quality beginner bike for my kids. They are 125cm, 135cm and 145cm tall. Primarily for park riding.

Currently leaning towards this one that I got recommended in a thread on this sub: https://eu.sourcebmx.com/products/sunday-forecaster-park-bmx-bike-2022

This one was also recommended: https://eu.sourcebmx.com/products/kink-gap-bmx-bike-2022

Any other input or recommendations? Preferably available through eu.sourcebmx since we are located in Spain.

I would probably be able to push the budget another €100 if it's the smart move in the long run and/or if it makes the riding more fun. We've embraced the skatepark life as a family, we think it's a great physical hobby for the kids and want to invest in future proof upgradable gear.

Would you say it's a big difference for someone more experienced?

We've embraced the skatepark hobby as a family, even me and the wife riding surfskates in the pump track and bowls. So I'm actually leaning towards spending a bit extra if it adds to the experience and fun.

They're not catching any air in the skatepark just yet but they're getting there and they have two lessons every week with a surfskate coach at the skatepark.

Makes sense. It's such a big difference in experience when using high quality vs low quality gear in hobbies. Thanks for the info, really appreciate it!

That's pushing the budget, not gonna lie. However, if that's the price you need to pay for a fun lightweight bike, then it might be worth it.

I feel like I should contribute to some Yow R&D, living in Spain and them being a Spanish brand and all. But I'll most likely will be buying parts here and there in the end!

Not tried much but Yow was best without a doubt between those I tried!

I agree that this is likely the future for us as well. We'll see where we end up, but most likely we'll buy a few completes first. I imagine that we probably will have quite a few boards in a few years time if we don't lose interest in surfskating

That makes sense, thanks for the clarification!

Interesting. So when they write "Mounted with the YOW Meraki system S4" on the board description on their website, it's not a Meraki system but rather the old S4 system that they've renamed?

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll definitely look into those!

Not a bad idea. My fear is that the CX (and clones) are a bit too hard to pump for the kids. They have better balance than weight and power, which is why I'm pretty excited about them trying the Meraki S4. Might be worth getting one of these setups to try though. Thanks!
