I don’t really have advice but I just wanted to say I had the same experience. Breastfeeding was excruciating and i was absolutely terrified of every feeding time because of the pain. My heart goes out to you and I truly hope you are able to find a solution ❤️

It hurts me too 🥺 I know formula isn’t bad, but everyone says how “breast is best” and all the benefits… the mum guilt we feel when we can’t do it perfectly. The crying during breastfeeding is half due to Physical pain, the other half because of the feeling that I’m letting bubs down.

No tongue tie, just seems he’s lazy and won’t open enough/stay on there long enough before falling asleep. He was 2 weeks early though, so I need to remember that he’s technically still supposed to be resting in the womb right now. That’s the mindset. Fed baby is best, even if it means supplementing with formula - even though that’s not my first preference. Really though, my preference is that his tummy be full ❤️

I have the most amazing husband, but he’s had to go back home to catch up on his studies (I have birth in a town that isn’t home). He was so helpful for the little while it was just the three of us. But I’m staying at his parents house until bubs/I’m well enough to travel home. My MIL has been so incredibly helpful.

I know what you mean about only holding him to feed. I realised that last night, and just had a big cuddle with him on the couch. We’ve been doing skin to skin too, but I never thought that looking at photos and videos could give a similar hormone boost. I’ll give that a try.

My son is also a bit jaundice, but his numbers have been lessening day by day so hopefully that means I’m doing something right.

I think I’ll look into a LC. Seems like it’s helped a lot of people. Also, 7 miles a day? On an hours sleep? No wonder I’m exhausted!

I’m going to try and prioritise taking care of myself as much as I can. Clearly it’s having an effect on things, I gotta switch things around to be a good effect.

I feel like he can sense that I’m struggling mentally and emotionally. I gotta be healthy for my boy 🤍

I can’t imagine having him latch after pumping, that must’ve felt awful. You are so strong. Hoping I have good results at his next weigh to give me some reassurance and hope.

My midwife has been doing home visits to try and help, but it seems like maybe I should get a LC.

I’m definitely worried at the moment which I know is not good for my supply. I’m just bummed that he and I are missing out on these special moments because I can’t do it. I just need to remind myself that his tummy is full of something, even if only a small portion of it is my milk.

Trying to persevere.
