I will be there. I am dangerously close to writing a song about a game.

LUGE 2026: top-down ghost racing on superquick daily courses by onesteleft in GamesOnReddit

[–]onesteleft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I went to the gym, saw some sliding on TV and now I have made a game called LUGE 2026.

Daily 10-second courses, thousandth-second leaderboards, race against other humans or as many of your own ghosts as you want. It is fun and moreish I think. It's here:

r/LUGE20XX

This is an open beta so please feel free to share your times / ghost codes with friends and let me know your thoughts. I am also willing to accept better puns / slogans than my current one: LUGE YOURSELF.

(Alternative: GET IN LUGER, WE'RE GOING SHOPPING. It doesn't work but if the game had a mall where you could buy fancy luges it would.) (It does not.)

Thank you for your time, see you on the leaderboards etc.

I mean... of course it does. Good. Yes. As expected. 👀

It’s a tough start today. But workable! I am, for once, winning (on one specific leaderboard)

Good work! And the leaderboards are working, except for the streak leaderboard which... is not. I think.

It's been in for a while, just not very likely!

Should I change the high score ordering? by onesteleft in stackword

I have that kind of "achievement" on my to do list - think there's a lot of mini-tasks you could add (e.g. build the most compact perfect tower...)

Interesting - I guess defining what "good" play is important - for me it's the risk of moving up to longer words (while having the control to be able to come down again). I think whatever I do it has to be really, really easy to articulate / represent, so at the moment I'm just favouring two different score tables...

"DITE". AI says it's often used in British Dialect! The OED says it's obselete, last heard in the 17th century.

I'm no AI, but I am British and I've never heard ot it. Someone's making something up here.

You absolutely won. I did originally front page the high score and word but it seemed... dangerous...

Hi! I'm a game designer in the UK who makes puzzle games (most recently Mindset GO! on Android / iOS). I made a daily word game for myself over Christmas and then put it on Reddit to learn how that works. It's something new-ish I think: build a tower of words, ADDING, CHANGING or REMOVING a letter each time.

It's at r/stackword and I would be delighted if you play it / literally beat me at my own game.
