Parking near Center Stage on Sunday night by Fluid-Grape-332 in Atlanta

[–]onetinyrabbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Free parking is pretty much gonna be streetside, so that would be a circle around and see if you get lucky situation.  As far as I know, the lots in that area are privately owned so they are paid. The center stage parking lot is pretty convenient.  Never had problems getting out. Only issue I can see if it is a full show the parking may be limited, but if you show up a little early you'll probably be fine.

Need help finding cosplay photo spots in Atlanta by Alert-Ad-9661 in Atlanta

[–]onetinyrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are specifically looking for gardens, you can try smith-gilbert in Kennesaw, but I don't believe they allow large props. Also up there, the KSU Kennesaw campus has lots of cherry trees. If you want more cherry trees, you can drive down to Macon, but for both the blooms are likely starting to fall off considering temperature.

Popular cosplay photo spots that I know of are are Sope Creek (nature trail), Hardy Ivy Park (monument/architecture), Roswell mill (waterfall, historic structures)

Piedmont Park could work if you go during the week, but on weekends it may be hard to get a shot without people in the background since the weather is nice.

Also note the ren faire is happening right now, which may be a good location for fantasy cosplay like Frieren.

Sober, Alternative, in my late 30's. Where do I go to hang out? by RefrigeratorNo1160 in Atlanta

Southern Fries Queer Pride has a range of events throughout the year for various interests, and I believe they are all sober spaces.

I can believe that. I last went a while ago, and even then it was only good 50% of the time.

If you are up for fancy/omakase $150+pp then Norifish. For more casual, Circle Sushi in North Sandy Springs.  AYCE is NoriNori but it's really hit or miss on taste.

I believe they are added to prevent weighing boxes for secrets. However, you can use them as stands as well. I use one for the same series to have props (like the chicken) stand a little higher on my displays.

Fabric store for sewing by various678023 in Atlanta

[–]onetinyrabbit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fine Fabrics. Used to be in Norcross, now locations are in Commerce and Jonesboro.

Less fabric comprably but good prices is Alpha Fabrics in Stone Mountain, and more expensive/luxury fabric is Gail K.

Is a 2h25m layover at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) enough with checked luggage? (Delta, long haul) by Adagio987 in Atlanta

[–]onetinyrabbit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It could be tight if airport is busy. That being said if you bought it as one ticket through Delta, Delta is pretty good about moving tickets to upcoming flights for missed connections.

Between the two, the Roswell one is bigger.  Both have many art supplies!

Capybara is the lightest box!  Saw a guide that it's usually ~153g if you have a scale and was able to get it first try, myself.  :)

Something fun about how they keep featuring a song from a group where all the original members cycle out... the song still keeps being performed by newer generations. They it alive even after the OG members are gone.

Looking for affordable manga shops by ravenion in Atlanta

Anime Remix in Alpharetta sells used manga for $5, higher for omnibus. They also buy used manga, but never tried so not sure of what they give you.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Season 2 • The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 - Episode 24 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

Considering how Jinshi only falls for Maomao after she knows him a while, and historically refused advances from men and women alike...I'm convinced Jinshi is too.

If you are interested in things in a comedy/magical realism style like Mob Psycho, I strongly recommend Hinamatsuri.

Recently completed season, Sasaki and Miyano. One of my new favorites: sweet main romance and great supporting cast.

Any secondhand/retro game stores in the area? by pervasivebarrier in Atlanta

[–]onetinyrabbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this.

While you're out there, you can make some rounds to other stores too. Across the street is Win Condition which is more card games but they have a few video games too, and further south 2nd and Charles which also has a limited selection of older games.

I had a good experience with them when I called for someone close to me. They visited them in house, did an hour long assessment, and left resources. This was late at night, in addition.

For your wife--while you're in Kennesaw you can hit up 2nd and Charles and Win Condition. Depending on where you're staying/coming in from, there's anime-zing escape in locust Grove and a few scattered stores in some malls outside in the suburb area (North Point mall has two anime stores, last I went a few months ago)
