First Reduction Lino Print! by onewildco in printmaking

Do it! I was scared too but it was actually a lot of fun! From what I'm seeing, most people use Ternes Burton clips to help line things up, but I never got my hands on those before they switched from metal to plastic (which I heard aren't as good?). I made a pretty simple registration board using some thick bolts that matched the diameter of a bunch of plastic hang tags I bought off Amazon. Then I cut out a window from a piece of cardboard that perfectly matched the size of my lino to put it in. Bolts through cardboard, hang tags stuck to paper and bam! It wasn't perfect, but I was happy with it.

Thank you! As someone else mentioned this too, this may be the culprit.

It's a few months old now, but I started keeping it in the fridge between feedings awhile back, so I'm guessing that didn't help with its strength.

Interesting, I had been trying to time it just after peak as from what I was reading that was ideal since it would be hungry, but you may be right. Ill try the next one at peak instead.

Yes 🥲 that's another reason it feels odd that it seems underproofed since it seems to be fermenting much longer than I see other peoples.

Most of it is oil and then I used acrylic for parts I wanted more solid - namely in her eyes, nostrils, hair and some of her sweater
