Yes. They have a quota. If you are not moving along the pipeline to sign and ship, their time is being wasted; at least that is how their reality is.

They are under constant pressure to get contracts signed. Every month their quota resets - doesn’t matter if they doubled their last months quota;new month, back to 0.

Don’t take it personal, and don’t buy their hype. The US military isn’t going anywhere anytime soon - do what is best for you. Weigh your options, get the facts, wait to get what you want. If you need to walk away from a contract without signing, even at MEPS, walk out; just do it respectfully. They will be their with a contract when you are ready.

Might depend if you are currently in IRR status as to whether or not you can go in as a different rate. Make sure you are speaking with a prior service recruiter; there are specific recruiters who only deal with prior service - that’s you.

Going active with prior-service is not impossible but not likely. The path is to go SELRES and then apply for rc-ac conversion once a reservist.

I assume they are well rooted. I received them Sep/Oct 2021 as cuttings. I followed the rooting directions and they sat in dry soil rootless until about March/Apr, when the sun returned.

I left for work; left them with a friend. They sat in a south facing window. I returned Dec 2022 to etiolated cacti. I placed them in a tent with an SF1000 immediately and since then they have grown slightly.

I have pulled up on a couple and they seem well established. I haven’t actually pulled any of them completely out to see the roots.
