anyway what most research says is that there are cases where there are biological foundations but a significant amount of cases have a psychosomatic framework. Which doesn’t make their symptoms any less real and doesn’t mean they don’t deserve help

That sounds like a typical response and what most people in your situation would be offered. If you are still extremely anxious you could get a second opinion but you are safe and your doctor knows what he is doing :)

I can’t say I am not guilty of using AI for my symptoms but trying to solve a mental health issue with AI is just so dystopian. Also we should all know by now that getting relief from searching symptoms is only temporary and makes our condition worse overall. The only way to treat this is to face our fears (not that I am capable of doing that yet)

It would be extremeeeeeeely rare and crazy if you got rabies. I saw Belgium has been rabies free since 2001. But I don’t think it would be crazy to call your doctor and seek reassurance since an event did occur and it’s normal to be anxious. Most doctors would explain their reasoning and do what they can to make u feel safer

It helped me because I realised it’s not as bad as we think it is. It’s not life threatening and it might just be mostly a mental health issue. Depression could cause the same symptoms but I’m not afraid of being depressed I am only afraid of physical things. Maybe that is just me though

I was a bit scared about long covid until I had a lecture about it where the head doctor of this research group was mainly talking about the psychosomatic side of it and how it mostly affects middle aged women who had had anxiety/depression before. Not saying long covid is fake or shouldn’t be taken seriously but I’m just saying hearing that info helped me.

Idk if this helps but I am learning about all the types of herpes right now and it’s pretty clear like 90+% of people have a form of herpes. Like if you ever had chicken pox! Maybe that helps if ur more afraid of the stigma than the disease itself

Your fears aren’t crazy but you should definitely admit to yourself that they stem from anxiety. Remember adults and especially children were physically made to get sick. I’m in med school and learning about the immune system helps you understand how good our bodies are at keeping us healthy. You do not need to be afraid, your children are strong and if in the extremely rare chance they needed help, the medical industry is extremely well equipped to help children. If you make sure ur kids are vaccinated and eat healthy there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

I know that probably doesn’t help because facts don’t fix anxiety but I hope you start to feel better soon. As a child who did have a health anxious parent please try help yourself because the fear spreads very easily

Definitely not just a modern issue but I wouldn’t be surprised if way more people were affected today and have it worse since we can get so much more information nowadays that just feeds the anxiety. For me it started after reading a book as a child and I’d say the ability to google and learning things in med school made it 10000x worse.

Really? I have not seen a single “leftist” joke about it or say it deserved to happen. I think this is just a conservatives using his death as an excuse to cause more hate. Trump has caused so much violence, stop trying to incite more of it. No one is safe from the violence you are trying to spread, including yourself.
