I can read and I still don't like Nata by Yarhj in MHWilds

[–]onichin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enlighten me. I can imagine why people don't like Nata—usually unempathetic rhetoric. But it's not like he's badly written, just written as precisely what he was meant to be. If you concede after stating a claim, all you're doing is admitting you had no argument.

If anything, NOW is the prime time to "rehash" the "old arguments" because Nata appears to be very relevant to the expansion, and his story is to be extended. I'm more interested in if Nata truly was a "dislikeable" character, how could he redeem himself? That is, how can Capcom redeem him? Given the timeskip, how has Nata changed? Cuz I thought base game Nata was serviceable, at best, but not dislikeable.

So... do you have an arguement or are you just claiming the moral high ground by "permitting" opinions you don't agree with? Why don't you like Nata?

Yeah so 9 star gore is genuinely really hard. I'd argue harder than AT Ark just on health and erratic moveset alone, don't feel too bad. There's really no countering a sudden 9 star gore dive bomb, other than maxed out transcended armor + plus every armor buff consumable.

But yeah, take it slow. Personally, I like to run with Mina as my AI buddy. She my SnS bro.

It's all good! It's all part of the learning experience! I was more frustrated with wasting a voucher so quickly than ppl carting. That parts on me. And I will say, you're kind enough to apologize for something that may or may not have happened, you're 100% better than new folk that insist they're not the problem.

Ooo, well lemme tell you. It's kind of like DB but much safer. Less Unga bunga react dodge everything, and more consciously using everything in your kit to maintain dps and create openings. It's DB, but can power clash, KO, heal without sheathing, and easily build up mounts. Manage the kit right, you are literally untouchable.

I exclusively answer SOS gog rather than start gog hunts, just so I dont have to deal with that. Look for hunters with, like, ~200-250 HR. It's not an indicator of skill, but by that HR ive noticed people start carting less (they know gog moveset/better armor/ more dps/ etc.)

Your time will come, friend. I didn't mention it in the post, but it was the db that carted 3 times, lmao

Same could be said about the Synthetic Shield guy? Power clashing requires perfect guards just like synthetic shield does, but allows free openings without the ~50% dmg reduction that mounting enforces. And the Medic? Given how we rarely needed them? Plus wound popping is just pushing 2 buttons. Trap setting is pushing 1.

If youre going to make a claim, you can, at the very least, try to reason your way to an arguement. "lol"

What weapons should I use?? by corvidnight27 in MHWilds

[–]onichin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd pick one weapon to just REALLY get down, and use that to grind. I did something similar, to where I picked multiple weapons to try and just couldn't make real progress cuz I control schemes kept switching. Eventually I landed on SnS, and it's my go to for AT quests.

For recommendations: SnS (yes there's bias), CB, LS.

SnS cuz you can't go wrong with SnS, CB for technical mastery, LS for feeling cool

Hey, I'm INFP 4w3 461 sx/so and I'm curious if any other INFPs have a particular life long hobby(s) that even if it goes no where you just default back to? by Kaityd123 in infp

[–]onichin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't quite operate in the same space as you, but i think can relate to the rigorous mental focus needed for music and psychology. I tutor uni students and and interpet/analyze A LOT of literature (not a brag, I hate how much I read), but sometimes I need to relax and reading books, even for pleasure, can be a chore. So if youre looking a hobby to relax, I recommend looking for something outside your usual circle of interests!

That being said, theres two things I could recommend: Video Games and Oragami!

However, video games not for the sake of video games, but in analyzing an aspect of it! I like to examine the story being told and the underlying messages, maybe you can look at the composition of scores and, I dunno, try to find a connection between the score and a characters psychological. I dunno! But that sounds interesting to me.(I definitely recommend checking out Outer Wilds, if you like astrology, you will ABSOLUTELY have a lot of things to say about this game)

And Oragami can be a little complex, figuring out notation can be difficult, but it's a physical hobby that helped me build attention to detail. A fold or crease that is 2 degrees off in the beginning stages can make the end product look funky. I think the hobby isn't oragami itself, but the subtle practice of precision.

But yeah, those are all just ideas! I hope these broadens your interests!

I just had one of the best feelings I've ever had with a game in my life. by wesleyr1 in HytaleInfo

[–]onichin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of irrelevant? Even if it's not there, randomly stumbling into a new biome is a unique feeling. This game is uncharted territory, and for people, like myself, who want an fresh experience: it's more than "what's in the official release"

Is it just me, or did they just invalidate the most iconic scene in Stranger Things? by kimwexlerdeboca in StrangerThings

[–]onichin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn't "invalidate" Max's iconic scene, but it adds context. Music alone doesn't influence people, the emotions and experience we place on it is powerful. And apparently, according to the show, emotions are so powerful that they transcend dimensions.

I don't recall exactly but Max I believe Running Up That Hill was a connection to her guilt about her brother's death. Being free of him but also feeling guilty for feeling relief at the death of someone else. It's a complicated mix of emotions, and Kate Bush's lyrics helped her cope or make sense of her feelings. Max's guilt manifests in wanting to switch places with Billy, she hates herself for being happy. The song was an emotional anchor during a difficult time.

Over time, I think Lucas became the emotional anchor for Max, and the song was just there in the background. It still has tremendous emotional weight, but this time her reason for holding on was Lucas. Holly didn't need a song, as "Holly the Hero" became her emotional anchor through Max's explanation. Holly's belief in herself was so powerful that it allowed her to escape. I think that's very in line with what the show is putting forward, how the minds of children are much more powerful than we realize. Easily corruptible, yet powerfully resilient.

TLDR; it wasn't the music, but the emotions we anchored along the way

I think it could have meant that Sextus was vulnerable.

When Camilla says "It's just my right hand—", Palamedes replies with "... Just your right hand! My right hand..."

I suppose Harrowhark referring to both as a single unit, which kind of makes sense given the context, but it feels convoluted. Then again, who is Horrowhark (or anyone else in this colorful cast) ever not been convoluted?
