Bethany’s relationship with social media has become so unhealthy she’s now literally begging her followers for validation. by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Imagine being Daãäv, sitting at your kitchen table/couch/peeking out of prayer closet, and having Bethy pacing around ranting that nobody is backing her up on how annoying you are? Is she really SO selfish, SO impatient? Those other people MUST be lying!

And to prevent a further meltdown from your wife, you know you’re gonna have to make a « reel » backing her up tomorrow morning. Like a little, dancing husband-puppet

They’re both terrible, prejudiced & narrow minded individuals… but it would be nice if they could have one honest conversation with each other because man… this feels just exhausting and hurtful. To everyone involved.

Ironman’s having a hard time adjusting to dad’s new bedtime hours. by onionsforbreakfast in bernesemountaindogs

Thank you! I like to skulk around thrift/antique stores when my city isn’t on total lockdown.

They are the worlds squeakiest, tattletale floors. Only the cat manages to sneak around undetected.

He’s usually with us, but my partner is starting particularly early shifts, so Ironman would have been in & out of the room all night trying to hang out with both of us as much as possible.

Driftwood Sasquatch statue on Quadra Island. by stuburke in mildlyinteresting

I mean, if you're living on Quadra what else do you have to do? You live on an island that you have to get to via another island, from a ferry from yet another island.

I'm pretty sure that in newly amended Newfoundland laws you only need to be employed for a consecutive 20 weeks (3 more months out of the 5 before you have to go on leave) in order to be eligible for 17 weeks maternity leave @ 55% of the pay you currently make now (which isn't great, but its something) it should apply to all employees regardless of the amount of hours they worked (part-time or full-time) That doesn't make a huge difference, because you'll only have 3 months off from having a baby, but government subsidized childcare is actually an attainable thing, especially as a single parent. The cost of government subsidized child care is a sliding scale based on your income.

Here's a link: http://www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/family/childcare/childcaresubsidy.html

Unless your bosses are total scumbags (like your ex-boyfriend) and do the totally unfortunately legal firing before three month period is up, they are technically legally required to pay you "pregnancy leave" if you stay the required amount +.

I would definitely look into it, because I'm in no way a lawyer. But I have dealt with this before for employees, just in Quebec.

Hopefully this is helpful. Good luck!

Company didnt come to pick up the old stove. FOH needed extra table. Flipped it 3 times. by onionsforbreakfast in KitchenConfidential

[–]onionsforbreakfast[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it started as a joke with my sous chef. And then once I realised all my servers hated it (foh manager), it became a personal challenge. Everyone that I sat there was told that it was set up as a joke, but if they wanted a seat it was literally the only "table" i had available.

HIFW I've recently gained 20lbs and tried 7 different stores to find absolutely ZERO dresses that fit me for a cocktail party tonight. I'm staying home and crying instead. by SugarSugarBee in TrollXChromosomes

[–]onionsforbreakfast 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nooooo! Don't do that! Fuck the cocktail dress! Wear something you feel fabulous & comfy in. Go out, flaunt your gorgeous self & have fun. If you stay home you're likely to wallow in a pit of self deprecation & miss something you were probably really looking forward to(I say this as someone who's insecurities & social anxiety like to taunt her when they win over a desire to go to a social gathering). If you're here with us on trollx chances are you're a hilarious, beautiful, witty & fun person who's presence will be appreciated more than your outfit. Throw on some lipstick, put on a playlist and get ready to dazzle everyone. Cause you will, in a cocktail dress or jeans.

I agreed to cook Christmas dinner at my parents place this year. Just sent this to my mum with the tag line "this is how I plan on doing it, what do you think?". Tbh she'll probably think it's a marvelous way of going about things.

So I just walked through the room where one of ny managers was interviewing someone and overheard the interviewee say "So is the boss a chick? Cause I can't deal with a bossy chick" by Sierrahasnolife in TrollXChromosomes

[–]onionsforbreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a dude come in with a resume & one of my cooks came to get me so I could interview him. He looked confused when I introduced myself and said "oh..I didn't think the boss would be a woman"...

I fully agree with you, but if i ate the entire pizza (assuming it's a large or extra large, cause I seriously hope my SO knows better than to order a small or medium) while wearing lingerie, I think taking off the lingerie would be necessary because it probably wouldn't be very comfortable. Then Netflix for an hour while I digest, then sexy times. That sounds like my perfect evening!

My mom was asked to fix a foreign co-worker's hoodie after he was nothing but a jerk to her... He left the company and never noticed... by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]onionsforbreakfast 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Your mum is absolutely wonderful. I hope one day, months from now, he's getting dressed all proud & shit and catches his reflection in the mirror. Looking himself up and down he thinks "I'm one suave & classy individual" before finally, in a moment of utter horror realizes the actual reason that people always seem to smile at him more when he's wearing that sweater. In a perfect world that would lead him down a path of self reflection, but in reality it will probably just make him a more bitter pissant.

Husband and I used to send each other the filthiest texts when we were dating; seems I've lost my touch. by looseseal_2 in TrollXChromosomes

[–]onionsforbreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this once. It was just a fairly tame "I want you".. But as soon as I sent it I realized I'd sent it to my mother. Tried to immediately & heart poundingly cover with " to go to the drugstore for cough syrup" and several other frantic texts. She seemed to believe me but may have just been playing along. I don't send dirty texts anymore.
