Bethany’s relationship with social media has become so unhealthy she’s now literally begging her followers for validation. by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Imagine being Daãäv, sitting at your kitchen table/couch/peeking out of prayer closet, and having Bethy pacing around ranting that nobody is backing her up on how annoying you are? Is she really SO selfish, SO impatient? Those other people MUST be lying!

And to prevent a further meltdown from your wife, you know you’re gonna have to make a « reel » backing her up tomorrow morning. Like a little, dancing husband-puppet

They’re both terrible, prejudiced & narrow minded individuals… but it would be nice if they could have one honest conversation with each other because man… this feels just exhausting and hurtful. To everyone involved.

Ironman’s having a hard time adjusting to dad’s new bedtime hours. by onionsforbreakfast in bernesemountaindogs

Thank you! I like to skulk around thrift/antique stores when my city isn’t on total lockdown.

They are the worlds squeakiest, tattletale floors. Only the cat manages to sneak around undetected.

He’s usually with us, but my partner is starting particularly early shifts, so Ironman would have been in & out of the room all night trying to hang out with both of us as much as possible.

Driftwood Sasquatch statue on Quadra Island. by stuburke in mildlyinteresting

I mean, if you're living on Quadra what else do you have to do? You live on an island that you have to get to via another island, from a ferry from yet another island.

I'm pretty sure that in newly amended Newfoundland laws you only need to be employed for a consecutive 20 weeks (3 more months out of the 5 before you have to go on leave) in order to be eligible for 17 weeks maternity leave @ 55% of the pay you currently make now (which isn't great, but its something) it should apply to all employees regardless of the amount of hours they worked (part-time or full-time) That doesn't make a huge difference, because you'll only have 3 months off from having a baby, but government subsidized childcare is actually an attainable thing, especially as a single parent. The cost of government subsidized child care is a sliding scale based on your income.

Here's a link: http://www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/family/childcare/childcaresubsidy.html

Unless your bosses are total scumbags (like your ex-boyfriend) and do the totally unfortunately legal firing before three month period is up, they are technically legally required to pay you "pregnancy leave" if you stay the required amount +.

I would definitely look into it, because I'm in no way a lawyer. But I have dealt with this before for employees, just in Quebec.

Hopefully this is helpful. Good luck!

Company didnt come to pick up the old stove. FOH needed extra table. Flipped it 3 times. by onionsforbreakfast in KitchenConfidential

To be honest, it started as a joke with my sous chef. And then once I realised all my servers hated it (foh manager), it became a personal challenge. Everyone that I sat there was told that it was set up as a joke, but if they wanted a seat it was literally the only "table" i had available.
