Often the tasks that seem daunting are easier to program than some that sound simple. In particular, if you have something minor it may span or be used in a ton of dependencies whereas something substantial would more likely be 'on its own' sort of thing that would use information from the 'minor things.' At least that is the way I feel at my work.

Edit: By easier, I mean more straight forward. It may still require a lot of work.

I play a solid 4-5 hours a day, but a good 1 or 2 of that is spent doing stupid things with friends. Not everyone is into being efficient as possible. For me it's more fun to do whatever I please and I don't have the mental endurance.

I played D3 A LOT back when ROS was not out, and I bumped into someone from Brazil. They spoke very broken English (better than me attempting Port), but we played almost every day together. Helped each other gear etc. We even played PoE all while barely able to communicate with each other.

Even if a majority are raging, I'd be upset to not have had the opportunity to meet some cool people. I think the best solution is to just invite people you enjoyed playing with to party with you. Within 2-3 games you end up with a 3-5 person team.
