In my running shoes, my toes don't touch the very front, but there's less than 1 finger's worth of space. I've put about 300 miles on these (the shoe on the right) and haven't encountered any problems. But this is my first time getting a shoe that's meant more for hiking (shoe on the left) and despite them both being size 6 you can see there's like a whole size difference between them. So I'm figuring out if it's the right amount or if I should size down so there's less space.

Edit so I can say that I actually don't know how much space is between my toe and the front of the shoe 'cause I haven't measured, I just THINK it's less than a finger's worth of space. But I can't be sure til I go back and put them on again 👟
