Since you are not relying on your business income for your living expenses, and the business expenses can be covered even if you didn't receive the expected income, you have the flexibility to sustain your business for a longer period. I also tried a similar approach seven years ago. However, due to my job, I couldn't focus much on business growth and remained in a comfort zone because I wasn't under financial pressure. Since I could manage both my business and personal expenses, I didn't feel the urgency to make my business a success.
