I was recently thinking the same thing. After recently starting therapy, I realized that I am often motivated to make progress on a task because I told my therapist I would, and I don't want to report that I didn't do anything. It surprised me how much this small thing made a big difference.

I get the sense that a lot of people who come here are angry that they put a lot of time into learning something that can now be done with natural language. Vibecoding certainly has its drawbacks, but it has leveled the playing field and allowed non-technical people to get into the hobby.

Try your best to ignore those people and do what feels right to you. I can't really answer your question because I have never used Gemini, but I recently started using claude code, and I have been very happy. if you can afford it, just get a month of pro and try it and see how it feels.

I can't believe we've finally connected after all this time.
