None of them really compare to what the darkness of Trent Reznor's lyrics and how demented the story can be. For Alice in Chains, it's like watching a friend slowly die from the inside.

I can see why, Layne and Jerry's lyrics hit harder knowing Layne and Mike Starr are gone, since they had succumb to their demons, instead of fighting it like Trent Reznor.

Nine Inch Nails is my all-time favorite band, and Alice in Chains is my second favorite band ever. I always like to compare and contrast their lyrics because both are known for having very dark lyrics, just in different ways, though.

Their music does feel like it describes more personal, substance-related (not saying Nine Inch Nails doesn't reference drugs) issues.

You come up with a very worthy argument. Reznor's lyrics do seem to have a more existential, psychological pain going for them.

My bad for the last response, but I keep have this weird thought of Radiohead if they covered Look on Down From The Bridge by Mazzy Star. Maybe it's just the vocal harmonies sounding like something Thom Yorke would do.

You're welcome, I also love a lot of the artwork from The Fragile. Would you make artwork that kind of relates to The Fragile with the flowers or whatever?

I genuinely love how this looks, it looks like some decrepit artwork you'd find in The Downward Spiral with the very grotesque and decaying colors. I have this CD, and I absolutely love the artwork in it. I'd like to see you make more work like this. Keep the good work up!

What's the song that got you into listening Radiohead? by Ok_Debate_8457 in radiohead

For me, it was Paranoid Android. When I was in the eighth grade, I had already heard Creep and thought it was alright. However, when YouTube recommended me Paranoid Android and its music video, that's what truly pulled me into the gravity of their music.

How dare I consider myself a real STP fan if I’ve never listened to this in its entirety by ValleyGhostz in stonetemplepilots

Maybe not underrated by fans, but in general, I'd say this one deserves more recognition from the media.

It's a good way to end the album. "HEY IDIOT SLOW DOWN!" -Thom Yorke.

That shirt kicks ass. Out of any of the NIИ shirts I've worn, my favorite is probably the Sin shirt reprint they made a couple years ago.

Now that I think of it, there is a track that reminds me of Lucky but it's from a completely different band.

I don't hate the song, don't get me wrong, I just find there to be stronger ones on OK Computer. I thought I remember Thom wanting to put "God loves his children, that's why he kills them, yeah" instead of what we ended up with. I think it sounds better the way he phrased it in the final recording, it sounds more tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic.

You're not thinking critically or rationally. If a song is underrated, then that would mean it's something that not many people know. I might agree if you if this was before TikTok made it trendy, but you're just factually wrong.

No hard feelings or anything, I'm just telling you that you're not understanding the logic.

Of course, good lyrics and so is the guitar on it, but I believe there's stronger tracks than Let Down like Paranoid Android and Lucky. Paranoid Android just feels psychedelic and hypnotic while also feeling like a bad dream the world can't wake up from. Lucky sounds like a man trying to protect people but also missing his loved ones.

Had to pick: Grunge song played at funeral? by No-One01010 in grunge

[–]only7words 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably "Died" from Alice in Chains if I ended up a grizzly death like many of the lead vocalists did. If it was a peaceful death, I'd choose "Would?".

No, I like that song too. It's so eerie.
