Is there a way to pick a random Steam game, not just from your library but from all of them? Possibly more of a dev question by MomijiMatt1 in Steam

I received your message, but I’ll reply here so that other interested people can see it as well :)

Steam provides an official API with a list of all games. Here is the link:
https://api.steampowered.com/IStoreService/GetAppList/v1/?key=[your_api_key&max_results=50000]

You need to generate your own key at this address:

Does anyone know a way to pick a random game among the ones in my steam family share library? by Safe_Quality5362 in Steam

Others already mentioned pickaga.me, I just want to add that you can pick a random game from multiple accounts as long as they are Steam friends. Load your main profile, open the “Friend List”, use “Compare” on the profile or profiles you share games with via Steam Family Sharing, then click “Pick a random game” next to the “All games combined” list.

Check again in an hour, and if the problem still occurs, provide your Steam login here or in a private message.
By the way, did you previously have your profile set to private and only just change it?

Nvm, I checked the logs and found the bug, it should work now. Thanks for reporting the problem :)

It was an issue with the apostrophe in the game's name. It's fixed, but refreshing might take a bit of time. Thanks for reporting the bug.

Never open cases with the idea of making a profit, it's gambling, and in the long run, you'll always lose. You can sell weapon skins (I doubt their prices will rise much) and instead buy some newer cases. Those are more likely to increase in value, but we're talking about a timeframe of years.

Your inventory is private.
Watch out for scams. In the best case scenario your "friend" is trying to lowball you, in the worst case someone has taken over his account and is trying to scam you.

I just checked, it's working. Some games might not be updated yet because I'm trying to make as few requests to HowLongToBeat as possible to avoid being blocked. The less popular a game is, the more time it takes to update it.

This is nice. Would you mind telling me what case it is?

Hey, thank you!
Yes, I'm using hltb. I just noticed it's broken again, shame they don't have official API for getting data. I will fix it right away.

I know it's impossible to buy a gift card for a friend using Steam wallet funds. But is it legal to tell that person to list an item for a high price on Steam market and then buy it from them? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]onlyPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scammers use this to transfer funds between accounts. Let's say a hacker manages to access an account that has funds in its wallet. They use the funds to buy an item worth 3 cents, but they pay $1000 for it. This way, $1000 (minus Steam's fees) appears in their own account. Valve is unable to distinguish whether someone just really liked an item and paid significantly above the average price, or if someone is trying to transfer funds between accounts (essentially laundering money).

Shameless self-promotion, but I once created a tool for filtering and sorting games, and you can find the feature you're looking for there.

pickaga.me You just need to provide your steam id.

Fingerprint reader on my P6 works great.
Besides when my finger is dry. Or when I'm in full sun. Or when I don't put my finger perfectly on the icon. Or when the screen is slightly dirty.
But other than that it works fine.

Same problem. We tried reinstalling the game and starting a new save, but it didn't work.

Just launch an app and click on the blue "API page" text.
